I am glad that Jacko’s family wound up with nothing but a bill for their lawyers’ fees. The loss of an artist is tragic but trying to turn everything and anything into a revenue stream for the clan was pure hubris.

They don`t have to pay for the lawyers, it was a win contract.
Mrs. Jackson wanted to know the truth about his son, the truth was spoken openly. AEG treated MJJ in an awful way, like he was owned by them.
They forced him, shouted at him and let him pay for all the tour preparations.
After his death they made huge money with him….. :(
Well this entertainment sector is unhealthy, especially for the artists. It is all about money !! We should not buy any ticket from promoters like this….they need to get their stadiums filled and get money in …. thats it. This is insane in every way, even for the employees from AEG.

Did you notice the one liner mentioning “this could even affect the ticket pricing.” What bull… With the way they treat these artists, riding them into the ground, no wonder all this happens. All so they can earn a pretty penny. These producers should shorten their expectations on margins, and do the right thing.

It’s not unusual for an entertainers’ assets to produce more income after death (Elvis). You think this entertainment sector is unhealthy? I belive Jackson was the unhealthy one. I hate that we lost someone with his talent and wish he would have done more with it. But he was an adult, had money, and a family. It wasn’t AEG’s fault.

Let’s see….you hire someone who’s a pedophile, drug addict and addicted to plastic surgery, and you expect everything to work out just fine….

Haven’t you read the posts above? This 40-something isn’t responsible for his own actions/condition. the promoter was mis-treating him so it’s their fault.

The excesses that these stars live in is staggering. Maybe this is a prime example of why so many believe that gluttony is the worst of the seven deadly sins.

If only all of you knew a thing about what you spew out there. While not being a great Michael Jackson fan, I happen to know he was never convicted of pedophilia – only accused. You happen to be innocent until proven guilty in this country.

And he was anything but a drug addict. He had terrible insomnia and relied on doctor prescribed and administered anesthesia to be able to sleep.

Try to have a little compassion, if not empathy for others.

Libby – you’re right about the compassion, and innocent until proven guilty, but MJ was as weird as he was talented. For whatever reasons he got addicted to some prescription drugs based on the many writings related to this trial.

Maybe the candle that burns too bright, burns too hot? It’s makes the stars who live and perform into their twilight years
even more remarkable for their ability to resist the negative
forces that essentially feed off of their success.
