The demise of the Independent Agent has been going on for years. The only trends I have noticed are that small mom and pops are merging or selling to larger agencies to make Independent agents stronger. We have a much stronger future than the captives of State Farm, Allstate and Farmers. Independents have much more to offer and give much better overall coverage advice to insureds. Captives and online insurance, not so much.
