The Hartford continues to disappoint. I’m really surprised AARP still wants to use them as their preferred personal lines carrier.

Good point but I suspect AARP doesn’t care as long as they get paid by Hartford. Plus I think they inked a long term contract. It’s too bad that may AARP members blindly follow companies endorsed by AARP when there may be better options.

The Hartford did a horrible job of harvesting the knowledge of the employees they cut loose. In particular, the National Accounts manager, Kevin Finn, dropped the ball letting centuries of combined experience walk without even acknowledging that the soon to be retired workers held a wealth of knowledge. His poor leadership skills and lack of communication will come home to roost in that area.

I was alarmed by the Former Employee statement and decided to research since I have National Acct connections. I heard of one instance where Kevin Finn allowed a 35+ year employee to sit and do nothing for close to a year rather than have him convey his experience to the less seasoned people who have never even seen a full insurance cycle. Obviously a weak link in the management chain. The former employee is spot on.

IMO, the management team of Kevin, Greg and Marty were ineffective managers and leaders. They played to many games and really had little regard for their staff. I know Marty to moved to another operating area but comments are valid.
