General Star Expands Coverage for Hazardous Specialty Training Operations

General Star Management Co. has enhanced its coverage for specialty training operations and seeks those that are privately operated providing classroom or physically active training in which participants are engaged in physically demanding or hazardous activities. This includes light, moderate or high-hazard operations involving exposures to participant injury. Target classes range from startups to businesses with up to $25 million in revenue.

Underwritten by General Star’s Casualty Division, primary and excess coverage is provided on a non-admitted basis by General Star Indemnity Co. General Star is a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Reinsurance Corporation, a member of the Berkshire Hathaway family of companies.

Custom designed features include: miscellaneous professional liability protection with bodily injury and property damage triggers; participant injury coverage (including minors, subject to eligibility); and independent contractor instructors included as an additional insured. Applicants are also eligible for the PLUS Endorsement which provides protection for six types of additional insureds. Other insurance on a primary and non-contributory basis is available, as well as waiver of subrogation, employment related practices and medical payments coverage.

Limits up to $10M are available.
