GM Backs Ban on Renting Recalled Cars

    Wow, take 21 million vehicles off the road because they are subject to recall. What would the rental fleets do, rent smart cars and Nissan Rogues?

      Unfortunately, yes. But both are better than the Chevy Cruze I rented last week. What a piece of junk that was. That was an upgrade because the first Spark they gave me shot oil all over it’s motor:) Made me appreciate my Avalon though. Traded in my Ford Truck for better gas mileage and am I ever missing it.

    The insertion of a hold harmless protecting the manufacturer also eliminates any incentive to actually fix the cars in rental fleets. There is a relatively short window of time before it becomes advantageous for the rental car companies to junk the cars for salvage parts rather than wait to have them fixed.
