I find most fascinating the way they moved stock and assets around to avoid taking responsibility for what was happening in the nursing homes they own..For that alone they should pay the $110MM.. I find that action reprehensible. The fact that these elderly patients are being abused and neglected seems to have become secondary.
Hope assisted suicide is legal when I get “too old.” Terrible way to end your days at the mercy of people who do not give a damn about anything other than the Almighty Dollar. My Uncle Bill was a doctor in a “better” nursing home facility. One of the aides was shaking down the elderly men for $5.00 or else “I’ll burn you in the shower.”
“Innocence finds not nearly so much protection as guilt”—Francois De La Rochefoucauld (1613-1680). There is an abundance of players available to be criminally charged and handed long penitentiary terms.
This would make an excellent John Grisham novel.
Not saying that the nursing home was not negligent and didn’t deserve to pay, but $110M for a nursing home death is obscene.
