    “We’re appalled at the deal-making and horse-trading behind closed doors and out of the public view,” said Jackie Gillan, president of Washington-based Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety, a watchdog group. “Some elected officials think it’s acceptable to bend to the demands of corporate trucking interests, and it’s acceptable to make political bargains that have life and death consequences.”

    Isn’t this exactly how Obamacare got passed? When did anybody suddenly get religion on this?

      Keep in mind Nancy Pelosi was also quoted this week as saying she wouldn’t agree to the appropriations bill until she had a chance to read it. Talk about coming of age.

      How did Obamacare get into this…? I long for the day people can make logical, intelligent arguments.

    Do we need further proof of our elected officials disregard for those who elected them to office?

    It gets bad when so called news groups only take one bias side of the story .I wonder how they would feel if they were told how long they could work or how much sleep they had to get!!!!I bet you would see a liberal uprising !!!! Like How Dare You Tell Me What Too Do.

      too != to

      Furthermore the old rules permitted a single driver roughly 60/70 hours of driving time a week (not actually a calendar week, but close enough), depending on the circumstances.

      If you can’t make a living on 60-70 hours a week, I don’t know what to tell you.

    Sounds like more liberal bias to Truckers ability to work.
