Look at the vote totals and the fact that President Obama is expected to sign the bill. This would have been passed and signed even if every Congressperson was re-elected.

This is not evidence that the new Congress will be any different, yet.

    Agent,

What does it tell you that all 5 “no” votes in the House and 2 of the 4 “no” votes in the Senate were by Republicans? It tells me that the passing of this bill had nothing to do with the new, red Congress. Maybe if Republican Tom Colburn did not hold this up before his retirement, it would have been passed last year.

It is a separate risk that needs to be considered and underwriting the risk will not be easy. Yes it needs to be passed and adequate concerns need to be given to this exposure that is a new wave of damages that need to be addressed in our insurance community.
