Progressive may be disappointed with the response to a free trial of Snapshot. Perhaps they took the wrong approach. I was not clear that anyone could try it for free after seeing their advertising. I honestly thought that it was only offered as a result of buying their insurance. Perhaps I was the only one.

Maybe next time, try offering your products aggressively through agents and find out how well we could sell them. Online sales will not be as effective as this is a person to person sale that requires the deft touch of an agent.

“Online sales will not be as effective as this is a person to person sale….”. I believe Progressive’s direct channel is out-selling agents on Snapshot. Mr. Pratt’s comments at the end of the article about agents offering it seem to confirm it as well.

One step away from sharing this information with law enforcement for “safety” reasons, of course.
