Must be Global Warming for it to be Spring every year with warmer temperatures and storms. It has to be man’s fault for Spring to show up about this time and cause trouble.

Sinking? Ridiculous! My side of the ship is 200ft in the air!

My hope is that the hail misses Abilene. Two big storms in 3 years has made our lives difficult. Property rates, and wind/hail deductibles are out of sight. I feel for our customers.

Hi Perplexed. Yes, Abilene has always been known for hail. The biggest hail I have ever seen was when I was stationed there in the AF. By the way, is Dyess still there or did it get closed? Used to be a big SAC base back in the day.

Dyess is still here. We have the B1 Bomber. I’ve lived here almost 20 years and the hail wasn’t an issue until 2011. The storm last June was devastating, because it was large and took out almost every roof in the downtown area. Still can’t get body work done on a car here in less than 60 days and a lot of the roofs aren’t fixed. Try to explain to an underwriter that the roofers are just too busy a year later and roofs aren’t fixed unless they’re leaking. Sounds like you guys got storms last night.

Those paintless repair shops tend to spring up on every hail storm that hits. They are like vagabonds and move from city to city with their tents. I tell our customers to stay away from them. I kind of doubt they have insurance and the work is not guaranteed.
