Scalia – Words have no meaning! Even Gruber said the law was written to coerce the states into establishing exchanges. Of course, he didn’t know that 36 states would say no way.

All this ruling means is that we have about 18 more months to wait to repeal this dog and put in something that works. It just bought the Democrats some more time, nothing more.

Obama and Dems lie..SCOTUS swears to it.

No real surprise on this ruling. If Roberts can re-interpret the mandate as a tax, when Obama and the Dems said it was NOT a tax, they can make up anything they want.

          Celtica

You’re example is an apples vs. oranges comparison. The Bush decision was based on interpreting the law as they were written.

The Obamacare decisions are re-writing the law to what they thought Congress meant, even after evidence was presented to the contrary. Obama and the Dems, when the original Obamacare was formed, said the mandate was not a tax. Roberts ruled that was illegal but said if they meant it as a tax, it was legal. He ruled on the basis that is was a tax.

This most recent ruling, SCOTUS again agreed that the language used was poorly written. Their decision, in part, was based on the economic impact of an adverse ruling. Again, they are not dong their job, which is to interpret the laws. They are legislating from the bench.

This country is in serious trouble because of the people who are placing their personal agendas over the constitution and overall well being of the country as a whole.

Integrity, what you are really saying is that SCOTUS punted yet again. They didn’t want this issue to start with knowing how divisive to the country that it has been. All they did was kick the can down the road and say the political process will resolve it eventually.

Unfortunately, the insurance companies also stood to lose their 3% guaranteed profit (which is why they have remained silent)being reimbursed by the government if they paid out more than 80% in pure claims costs. The ACA took over 17% of the economy and we can all see the tremendous improvement in the economy with job creation and people making more money(irony intentional). Having 17% of the economy tank ( with the loss of the subsidies and guarantees in those States who do have their own exchanges), the Supreme Court had to redefine the word State to mean Nation, so they saved the companies. As Bugs said “What a maroon!”.

All we have now is a continuing spiral of double digit rate increases, the poor policies of high deductibles, high out of pocket expenses for the American people until the next Presidential election when something can actually be done.

Look, I may not agree with the SCOTUS ruling, but honestly, isn’t the Supreme Court SUPPOSED to vote on the actual issue, not based on their party affiliation? I know that presidents appoint justices that tend to agree with them politically, but when it comes to the law the court is supposed to be as objective as possible.

The Court has spoken. You don’t have to like it, but you do have to live with it.

Rahm has got to do something. Since he tore down the Gang Units that Richie had in place, the shootings have sky rocketed. Its the Obama way of thinking he had a better idea. Not working out so well. Too arrogant to admit his mistake.

They only know Keynsian spending to solve vexing problems instead of real solutions not requiring spending like cutting taxes, reigning in government, going after agencies and departments wasting taxpayer money etc. Did you see that payroll flap at Amtrak? What a way to run a government railroad! I am not sure how an employee can claim working 48 hours in a day or working 22 hours every day or 130 hours overtime a week plus regular time. Hey, it isn’t their money, so what if $200 million went down the rathole because of their dishonesty. I haven’t heard one Democrat say it was a travesty or demand the money back.

Do “you” tell them to sue “you” for payment or try to negotiate a pay plan?

Okay Agent. I can do math – I got this for you.

          1) $5,000 BRONZE deductible = $96 a month = $24 a week = $3.40 a day. If they can put aside just $5 a day, the average person would have saved enough to cover their yearly deductible!

          2) SILVER deductible is only $2,000 = $38.5 a month = $9.6 a week = $1.4 a day. On the silver plan, they only need to put aside $2 a day to cover their deductible!

Saving $2 to $5 a day seems reasonable and doable no matter how much you have saved in your bank account.

I love political and illogical math. I guess that SCOTUS could always redefine the word “saves”. Let’s try the facts.
            $5000/365 = $13.70 a day.
            $2000/365 = $5.48/day.
As for California, our exchange is bragging about the premium (average of about $271/month) and for each $1 in it cost the consumer, $3 came from the Fed. Where would that money come from? The refunds the consumer would have had on their tax return. Where does the loss get made up? Those who will pay higher taxes and the Medical Device Tax and the decreased reimbursement to doctors and hospitals.

            You’re right Reality Check – I should’ve done $5,000 % 365 and $2,000 % 365 and not the per month/week/day calculation.

Where have you been Bill? Have you been selling Health Insurance for years like I have? A lot of my customers had lower deductibles, some had to take lesser coverage plans because of rate increases, but they stayed with what they had until Obamacare got them cancelled and they had to start over with substandard policies with huge deductibles, huge out of pocket expenses that they can’t currently pay so a lot of Americans just don’t go to the doctor and use their coverage as catastrophic care. How would you pay a $5,000 deductible if you had less than a thousand in the bank?

I work for an insurance company, have the “fancy” employer sponsored plan and my deductible is over $2000 and I still have to pay 30% coinsurance after that. Luckily my children qualify for CHIP because I can’t afford the paycheck deduction for employee plus family. Especially after a surprise health setback has me inching towards my $5000 out of pocket maximum. So, everything is/was not all rainbows and butterflies in the private and group health market.

Unfortunately Celtica, all Republican plans were rejected by our Socialist in Chief. We have to wait about 18 months to get another plan drafted and passed after we repeal this turkey.

Child, child, you must have been about 8 still playing with dolls when the famous Blair House meeting happened where Obama, Pelosi & Dirty Harry met with Republican leaders. Republican ideas were presented to no avail.

The arrogant one said later that Republicans needed to get in the back of the bus and follow his plan. No wonder they had to pass this travesty in the dead of night with backroom deals, bribes, coercion. A strictly partisan law like this was bound to be a bad law as it has shown to be for 5 years running.

We need to make sure that EVERY Candidate wears a NASCAR uniform during this election cycle. That way we all know who their sponsors are. You’ll probably not be surprised by the health carriers who now have their money.

I’ll give you a 2/3, Celtica. Bristol Palin doesn’t hold any office and never will. Her mom is irrelevant and hasn’t held any form of office in years.

If you want to gloat about conservatives, go after the actual politicians and not their family members.

It is amazing you even pay attention to Bristol Palin – you must have a lot of time on your hands waiting in Doctors office with your Obamacare plan.

Yogi, to borrow a statement of Ted Cruz, SCOTUS is supposed to be the umpire, not pitch and bat.
