Costco tends to be over the top in their purchasing and I believe them. This is a nuisance lawsuit and I think it is time that companies are able to sue right back for damages to reputation on nuisance suits.
Her next target might be WalMart….
So, CostCo is working closely with the Thai government. We who live here know what that results in. Thailand has a dictator. If he violates the civil rights of 70 million Thais, who would ever believe who would help the slaves on the boats that are the start of the chain to CostCo’s shelves? When major groups like Human Rights Watch have something good to say about CostCo, then I’ll believe CostCo has battled slavery. But not till then.
Do I have this right? A woman is suing Costco because the people Costco buys their prawns from in turn use these human traffickers to grow their prawns?
Costco does tend to have high quality controls, but that doesn’t mean it is failsafe. It does bear closer scrutiny.
