A good business to be in. And with the major brain drain which will occur over the next 5-10 years a great opportunity for those in it or thinking about getting in.

Dave, I am afraid there will not be many get into the sales end of it in the coming years. Most Millenials do not have sales personalities and will just have technical jobs running a computer and letting the computer underwrite business.

        Agent:

You are absolitley correct, being on the underwriting side the millenials have no ability to comprehend the technical requirements of reviewing a risk and the carriers are using offshore service centers to fill out the raters and submit the quotes for them to forward on to brokers.

I am very concerned about the future of this industry.

Underbroker, to be in the sales end of this business, a person has to have the gift of gab, get information needed, instill a little trust in the prospect, be a problem solver and then present a good solution to the problem. I see none of that ability in the typical Millenial who generally just wants to play on the computer and be an order taker.

How about holding the hiring, and just paying folks what they’re worth? Like maybe catching up on all those deferred raises?

How’s it going for people over 55 trying to find a job in the insurance business? Age discrimination is rampant.
