Supreme Court Justices Divided Over Spokeo Internet Injury Class Action Case

    From the article: “Sotomayor said inaccurate information about marital status in an online profile could harm a person’s romantic prospects. “I know plenty of single people who look at whether someone who’s proposed to date is married or not,” she said. “So if you’re not married and there’s a report out there saying you are, that’s a potential injury.”

    The article also indicated the person was shown in the profile as being about 50 (twice their actual age) and had a picture of someone other than the individual complaining. I’m not sure but wouldn’t both of those differences possibly key a reader that was dating or looking to date the person complaining that the rest of the data in the profile (like marital status) may not also be less than 100% accurate?
