To bad they did not think of this with the Property and Casualty Insurance Markets.

I hope both mergers go through … the Feds are way too involved with the marketplace in general and certainly too much involved in healthcare.

“Fostering competition, not consolidation, benefits American consumers through lower prices, better quality, and greater choice,”

While I don’t love the idea of the health insurers merging, considering how many local hospitals and medical practices are merging with or being acquired by massive health systems, this statement seems a little disingenuous.

I would respectfully disagree. I don’t think bigger makes better, and this case the two are already big enough. making them bigger would be a mistake and wouldn’t do a thing to alleviate problems the Feds

steve, I agree with you. Reducing competition is not the answer to lowering costs or improving care. It does quite the opposite and larger entities are free to increase costs because there is little competition so they will do whatever they want because they are basically the only game in town. America has always thrived when we have had competition. Progressives want competition to dwindle since it is against their agenda.

      Agent,

Now you are against the free market? Please be consistent and stop advocating for more government involvement.
