To think that the GPS technology commercially available can monitor position within inches of ‘dangerous’ equipment is incredible. What type of response will be created the first time a worker enters a permit required confined space under a bona fide entry system and under lock out / tag out? Will the monitoring computer have a break down because it does not know the entry is authorized?
As a CSP, I can see many benefits of this type of system , more for single workers in isolated areas. For a large manufacturing facility with various machinery all around I think the monitoring piece will need a lot of work.
WOW!
