I wonder what the cost is to insure a 55 Chevy with Comp and Collision in Havana.

Perhaps the NFIP will offer Hurricane and Flood for them.

Why would NFIP offer coverage. Cuba is not part of the USA.

Liberty Mutual may run down there and open up an office. They had such great luck with their Venezuela experience.

Conservatives like you are stupid beyond belief. We give millions a year to Israel and which you see as worse that lifting a miniscule part of the restrictions.

You’re preferred policy of continuing to crush their economy should start to work any minute now, right? 56 years just isn’t enough time. Idiots.

Castro is still the last name of the guy in charge of Cuba, correct? So 56 years ago we severed ties because he is pure evil and that island is a hotbed of communism in our western hemisphere. It remains a dangerous place today and me, along with hundreds of millions (perhaps even a couple billion) people around the planet know that given the chance, that terror of a human being would do anything he could for ours and his people’s destruction, as long as he alone comes out on top. Period.

Why would we want to ease tensions with a maniacal piece of crap when he/his brother/whoever the hell is still the SOLE ENTITY CRUSHING HIS COUNTRY’S ECONOMY?? How exactly is that our fault?

What exactly will this do for us? What’s our gain?

What is it with you libtards never assigning blame where it deserves to lie?

And hilarious, our conservative “preferred policy” is to crush their economy. It’s so easy to focus on us modern-day tax payers instead of asking the same question about your past idols that stood by Eisenhower’s position: Kennedy, Johnson, Carter, Clinton….amazing.

Watch Trump to jump on the Cuba band wagon for his own personal gain. Thinking mega casinos and golf courses on undeveloped ocean front property for pennies on the acre. He is probably salivating himself silly on that one.

” So 56 years ago we severed ties …”

Exactly, it is a great policy, and should start working any day.

“Castro is pure evil” is just an asinine statement. Yes, he is a disgusting anti-democratic authoritarian, but he has helped Cuba spread medical care throughout Latin America and South America, an act of “pure evil,” you must agree. Castro came to power to overthrow the US backed Batista, who had overthrown the democratically elected leaders of that nation. The US needs to stop messing in the affairs of nations like Cuba, and stop overthrowing any government that isn’t a far right-wing, pro-American lackey.

The embargo is stupid. It has done nothing to remove Castro, and in fact has probably only made it easier for him to hold onto power. Tens of thousands of Americans visiting Cuba, and Cubans visiting America for decades would have removed Castro far faster than this idiotic policy.

Please don’t drink the Cuban kool aid regarding health care and education. Cuba had the best statistics regarding health and education before Castro. Now? it’s one of the worst for the Cuban people. As a Cuban American living in the states since the 1960s, I’ve had to send medicine, glasses, money, etc to my family in order for them to survive. I know I am assisting the government by helping my family but I had no choice because they were not allowed to leave. People that go to Cuba have to know they are visiting a zoo; they can go and enjoy themselves but the people are not allowed to leave, they are not allowed to speak their minds, they have no freedom whatsoever. The Castros are assassins, thousands died when they came to power by either being shot against a wall (paredon) or by hanging. The jails are full of political prisoners dying of hunger and mistreatment.

Good one Supreme. I recommend some of our Progressive posters immigrate to Cuba. I hear there are some good jobs available in the sugar cane fields. It seems that for several decades, many Cubans found boats to try to immigrate to the US because of Castro and his regime. Rubio and Cruz family were among them. Why didn’t they like the island paradise where there is unlimited opportunity?

Is Israel employing Communism to enslave its people? Are they harboring criminals who sought refuge from US Law Enforcement for crimes against Americans?

CastrObama got some ‘splainin’ to do if he returns to the US without an agreement to extradite refugees from US justice who are holed up in Cuba.

Prior US Presidents asked Cuba to send those felons to the US to face the music instead of dance to it. Arrests of The Ladies In White in Havana isn’t a good sign, and is similar in nature to the roadblock in Arizona this weekend (i.e. both are intended to silence opposition.)
