Yea. This new Health System operates smoothly. Just another way OBama screwed people with his bill of lies.

Had to go 50 mils to avoid an HMO. Went with the HOm. Now today, ny wife doc wants yet another MRI done and the pain clinic wont tell her a network provider. Ive already been stuck with an MRI bill due to the changing network. My med expense from last year is over $30,000 with out the med miles. I think I missed the mark with my income so I will get stung when I finish my taxes again. What a half ass system. So poorly thought out. Sold on a pack of lies. Wonder what would happen if I told my clients lies on such a large scale.

FFA, if Insurance Agents operated like the Federal Government, they would be shortly bankrupted and no bank would ever lend to them. If Agents lied like the Federal Government to their clients, they would first have a number of E&O claims followed by loss of license.

I commend your efforts to try to sell this Obamanation, but clearly agents were not intended for their scheme. That is why I decided early on not to try it. An E&O waiting to happen. Scholars can’t read or understand it so why would an agent be able to understand it?

Not worth the chance to trust my health care to a bunch of politicians that will say / do anything to win an election. The only they they dont do is speak for the people that elected them.

        FFA,

I said Universal Health Care, not Socialized Medicine. Do you understand the difference?

All I want the government to do is collect the premiums, in the form of taxes, and pay for the health care. I do not, repeat do not want the government to provide the actual health care or make doctors, nurses, administrators or anyone else in the health care industry government employees. That is what we currently have with Medicare and Medicaid.

My plan would eliminate uninsured citizens, remove co-pays and deductibles, eliminate networks, remove the uncertainty of medical expenses, eliminate bankruptcies due to medical issues, increase bargaining power with pharmaceutical companies and medical equipment manufacturers and distributors, remove fraud by people trying to gain access to Medicaid, encourage more people to retire earlier, and create more jobs. All of these things will also lead to more prosperity in the overall economy because more people will have more disposable income.

It really is not that complicated.

            Yogi Polar Berra,

            Please re-read my entire post.

Once again, since you apparently missed it in my previous post, the government will only collect premiums and pay the bills. My plan would actually reduce the government’s involvement in health care because there would no longer be Medicare, Medicaid or the VA. All health care would be run and administered by private companies.

Any other questions? maybe something I hadn’t already answered.

I read it 3 times now, and conclude once again that the Federal Govt collecting FUNGIBLE healthcare premiums is a big problem, as is the taxation of people in violation of the US Constitution.

If US Citizens want to exercise their rights to BUY or NOT BUY a product or service from a private healthcare provider or private health insurance company, THOSE two industries are perfectly capable of collecting premiums MORE EFFICIENTLY and without the possibility of ‘leakage’ of FUNGIBLE taxes to FAILED FEDERAL SOCIAL ENGINEERING PROGRAMS like Medicare and Medicaid.

LBJ raided the Social Security Lock Box in 1965 to pay for his FAILED ‘PAYGO’ Ponzi schemes; Medi-CARELESS and Medi-CAIDTOSOCIALISM. Your scheme is similarly flawed. Private insurance companies have TRUE lock boxes that cannot be breached by the Fed. And, there is NO REASON to force people to buy any products in violation of the US Constitution despite deceitfully calling the premiums paid ‘taxes’.

Summary; there is NO REASON for Federal Govt involvement in health insurance, including programs created by Socialist Democrats which have failed, as proven by their impending insolvency.

Does the Fed collect auto insurance, homeowners, WC, General Liability, Medical Malpractice, Life, Disability, etc. premiums? Why not? So why should the Federal Govt get involved in collecting healthcare premiums that comprise 1/6th of the US GDP?

            Yogi Polar Berra,

My plan is not to extend Medicare, Medicaid or the VA to all, period. Actually, as I stated before, my plan would eliminate those programs. I would equate it to paying private military contracts where the government collects taxes, then pays the contractors for goods and services that the private companies provide. Are there instances of fraud and abuse? Yes, but the bills get paid and private companies still create jobs and generate a profit.

You asked, “Does the Fed collect auto insurance, homeowners, WC, General Liability, Medical Malpractice, Life, Disability, etc. premiums? Why not? So why should the Federal Govt get involved in collecting healthcare premiums that comprise 1/6th of the US GDP?” Simple, the need for those things are all contingent on owning something voluntarily.

I find it ironic that you said, “You recall what Einstein said about people who continue repeating failed procedures, don’t you?”, yet my plan is actually different from what we have tried in America. The Republican plans are all regurgitations that want to go back to what we had. HSAs pre-date the PPACA.

I know you and the rest of the right are scared of something different, but that is how you improve.

I am not sure why you said, “Ron believes the ACA compares favorably to the prior, albeit flawed system.
Ron is in denial.” in a reply to a post where I said, “What we have and what we had suck(ed), period.”. At what point did I ever state that I believe the PPACA compares favorably to what we had? Please stop putting words in my mouth just to support your narrative.

I do not want Great Britain, Canada or any other country’s plan. I want a plan that works for America that guarantees all of its citizens are taken care of, not just those with the means.

Then maybe you should move to Somalia or some other country that has no government involvement. And take Agent with you.

What is your solution, with zero government involvement, for solving the following issues:
1.) Reasonably priced coverage for people with pre-existing conditions
2.) Reasonably priced coverage for senior citizens
3.) Reasonably priced coverage for the working poor and disabled
            4.) Surprise out-of-network fees and co-pays
            5.) High deductibles and co-pays
6.) Bankruptcies due to medical expenses (the number 1 cause of bankruptcies)

I can guarantee you that the private market has no solutions for these issues or the issues you and your wife are experiencing.

Ron. Premiums were reasonable before Govt Involvement. Ded & OOPs were reasonable before govt involvement.
As far as I know. Medicare is reasonable.
Medicaid exists for the Poor and Disabled.
Surprise OOP & Co Pays were not an issue until the PPACA.
High Deds & Co Pays were not an issue prior to the PPACA. I knew where it ended. If I wanted to spend more to get a lower ded, I used to be able to. Not to mention, they took part of my product offering off the table.
Every provider I (my wife) use and have fallen behind on all have some sort of Financial Office / assistance available.

When I cut pay checks, I am currently taking 7.65% out of my employees checks for Medicare & SS and I as the employer are matching that. We are currently Pre Paying for that.

Why you getting snippy with me? Its not you I dont trust, its the Govt.

To answer your question with a question, why dont the people who dont like the system move to another part of the world where they do like the system? People that think Canada has a great system – they can move there.

I believe JFK got it right and people today have it wrong.

            FFA,

Just because your premiums were reasonable, does not mean everyone else would agree.
As you know, Medicare and Medicaid are government programs.
There were OON fees and copays before the PPACA
High deductible plans with HSAs existed before the PPACA

I apologize for getting snippy and understand your mistrust of the government. I am not a big fan either. The point I was making is that the private health insurers were not able to come up with solutions because their number one priority, as for any business, is profit. In addition, they do not have enough bargaining power, as individual companies, that the government would have to reduce expenses.

I do not want what Canada has, I want better.

Ron, I never had OON expenses like this before. Ever. My total Medical last year has totaled out over $30,000 – worst ever.

We are finally getting this accident finished off next week. Not getting any where near what the OOP was. Not even close. She had pre existing issues. The accident advanced them by so many years. Then to have the same providers in network for the first surgery and then not for the second because the PPACA forced networks to change. Then the kid (texting & driving) gets off with barely a slap on the wrist.

Now, no more commish for my time helping people get through the health law all in the name of 5% less premium because all carriers are posting losses.

Hopefully, after the 1st of the year, its gone.

I honestly feel bad for your situation with your wife. Mine went through breast cancer treatment last year and this. Our medical bills were not quite as high as yours, but it had a huge impact on our spending on food, household goods and entertainment. That is not helping the economy.

My plan would have saved your family and mine tens of thousands of dollars that could have been spent in the private sector and helped the economy.

@Ron; re: “what is your plan?”

Read the plans of Cruz, Trummp, and Carson, all of whom call for HSAs of one form or another, revised laws allowing licensing across state lines, and other ideas that DON’T involve the US Govt.

Trump has a single payer approach embedded in his requirement to repeal McCarran-Ferguson / Public Law 15, which would eliminate competition. The other two Republican plans that were published do not eliminate PL-15 and thus preserve data collection by rating bureaus that enable small insurers to add to market competition.

Want to know more about those novel ideas? Read THOSE 3 novel plans instead of re-hashing failed proposals that parallel Medi-CARELESS and Medi-CAIDTOSOCIALISM. You recall what Einstein said about people who continue repeating failed procedures, don’t you?
