Not sure Wells Fargo will be opening many new consumer accounts in the near future. The CEO should be prosecuted for this criminal behavior. Apparently, no morals, no sense of right and wrong.

I hope they close all Wells Fargo Banks for good…My husband and I took out a 46,000 plus mortgage on our home several years ago…they told us if something happened to one of us the loan would automatically be paid off in full …I was surprised by this statement and repeated it back to her and asked if there was a charge for this also..etc ..she said no..but if something were to happen to one of you your home would be covered to have it paid off in full….my husband later had a massive heart attack and passed away before we could get that loan paid…….I asked them about our mortgage being paid off like they had told us..and they then said something totally different ..they told me No..you would of had to taken out a separate ins policy with your ins agency to do this…..I always wondered if they had a policy like they had told us and just put it into their own account..They lied to us…why?

tj, it is called a Mortgage Protection Policy and is pretty common. You should have gotten something in writing and a policy at the time. Sorry for your experience.
