Common sense good rule here. Why in the heck would I want my employees to come to work sick? If I don’t pay them sick leave, they’ll be bringing that illness to the rest of my workforce. Which has the potential to cost me way more than providing sick leave.

This isn’t as bad as his other rule about doubling the limit of pay to be considered Exempt.
Employers should give full-time staff some allotment of time off for illness.

*earned* sick leave is not welfare. give me a break. do you have sick leave? do you consider yourself to be a welfare recipient?

I will gladly pay into taxes so that people can stay home if they are ill. My kids have to come home from school if they are sick. Shouldn’t be any different for adults. Sick people should not be out and around infecting others. I hate being sick, stay away from me if you are.

You are ill and yes we will stay away from you. By the way, your kids are not working.
