The personal lines and small commercial is on a free fall, production of new auto business is very minimum even for big agencies, also Homeowners Insurance Companies are starting to broker their products online with user friendly systems open 24/7, so the writing is on the wall.
While we see where the business is going, we are still developing and writing tons of new personal and small commercial business … its about building and developing relationships … if agents just give up then clients and potential clients will go direct but a good agent can build a relationship, demonstrate the value and get the business!
John, need a good laugh of the day? There is a Facebook posting of a so called business expert who incidentally is a “ditzy blonde”. She said the unemployed we have in this country should just start a small business. She obviously doesn’t know that the long term unemployed generally don’t have any assets, can’t get a loan and have no clue about what the government does to small business to discourage them. This is the simplistic thinking that Progressives use all the time.
