    Dodd-Frank needs to be seriously changed, or repealed. Let businesses create jobs and MAGA.

    Cue the liberals on IJ, who will object to ANYTHING Trump does…

    5, 4, 3, 2, 1, …. here they come!

      I’m a liberal and I have no problem with scaling back excessive regulation. Business need to be regulated, but most government regulations are just expensive red tape that kill growth and jobs and don’t actually accomplish the goals the regulations were intended to achieve. If these two want to give business free reign to do whatever they want so they and their billionaire friends can make even more money, we are in trouble. If they want to replace the bogus regulations that were passed for no other reason than to appease less informed liberals into thinking the government is doing something, I’m on board.

      I’m not one of those liberals crying over Trump’s election. I’m prepared to wait and see if he plans to make policy designed solely to make him richer or helps the country as a whole. Too early to tell now. Crossing my fingers, but not holding my breath.

      DePolar, I am not too worried about a Billionaire stealing from the American people like I am worried about the Democrats who have been in office.

      Mr. Opinion;

      I doubt regulation rollbacks are intended to ‘give (businesses / executives) free reign to do as they please’. They will likely take a close look at all aspects before they do something that will have adverse consequences. It seems to me that regulations should help regulators police & punish mis-behavior rather than handcuff everyone in business to prevent mis-behavior.

    “The USA just elected a billionaire that is appointing other billionaires to fix the system that made them billionaires”

    Trump supporters, just let that stew in your minds for a while, then wonder why we are no going to just “get on board” with President Trump and give him a free pass.

    I am not a liberal, but do remember history. One needs only to look at how Carl Ichan’s greed and arrogance totally decimated TWA, while he personally pocketed millions.

    Fits the Trump agenda perfectly, right?

    I am happy to see President-elect Trump being proactive in reigning in some Defense spending. This is an area where we can see significant improvements having someone with his negotiating skills.

    When Obama wanted to pass laws that were helpful to the people in his opinion, the Congress said he was overreaching, acting like King. Congressional opposition used its powers to contain the executive branch.

    Now, with a virtual monopoly of power, it looks like Congress will permit the following: unprecedented conflicts of business interests for the President and certain proposed cabinet members, lack of scrutiny for security clearance of family members present at closed door meetings, public threats of nuclear aggression contrary to decades of policy concerning a balance of power and nuclear containment, limitations to access by the press and exclusion of assorted prominent publications…just to name a few and he’s not even taken office yet.

    Congress had better do its job and ask a lot of balanced questions before they allow a monster to grow too large, and then it will be too late to contain his power.

      You are spot on again, libra. He’s an authoritarian and is already showing signs of ruling as one. A dictatorship cannot be allowed to form! And this apparent oligarchy needs to be held in check otherwise we will no longer have a middle class. 30+ years of Reaganism has created the largest wealth gap in the history of the world. Tell us again when the trickle down is supposed to start? What a bunch of lies.

      Biggest failure? The economy is in much better shape now than it was in 2008. We recovered from the failures of the previous administration.

        Economic numbers were driven by artificially low interest rates. Unemployment data is distorted by 94 million out of the workforce, but not counted unless they are looking for work instead of collecting UnEm and receiving food stamps.

          Rates were not artificially low or there would have been inflation caused by too much credit from the rates leading to too much spending, leading to an overheated economy and inflation. Didn’t happen. The people saying the rates were artificially low were proven wrong; the people still repeating that are uninformed idiots.
