Pretty sure Trump is aware we also have exports and is addressing the massive trade deficit as opposed to merely “overlooking” these.

Well, I googled her and she has a BA from Amherst. No economics background to speak of. She appears to be one of those strange Globalists we hear of from time to time. We are talking about tangible goods deficits, not viewing Hollyweird movies abroad. Trump is entirely correct. Bring those manufacturing jobs back. The world is now responding and investing in the USA.

Mergers and acquisitions, global finance, global investment banking, nope no economics there. Certainly not at the level of an incompetent insurance agent in a tiny town in Texas.

oh, her degree from the school you mention, it is a BA in Economics.

No economics background to speak of there. Literally every statement you have ever made that I have looked into has been completely wrong.

Polar, a Globalist Progressive Elitist can never be wrong about anything, didn’t you know that? We are puzzled at how they managed to lose an election with all that Globalist Elitist Liberal media behind them 100%. Perhaps Trump was correct about bringing all those manufacturing jobs back to America. Free trade means fair trade and Trump means BUSINESS!

What about you? Can you ever be wrong about something?

You know, like how you claimed someone having a BA in economics means they have “no economic background.” Can you admit you were wrong about that?

Or how about me needing a Renter’s policy even though I owned my home – were you wrong about that?

Or how about Progressive Flo being a non-fictional character who pays taxes (not the actress who plays her, actually Flo). Were you wrong about that?

Yuuuuup. Even asked him multiple times if he meant the actress who played her, but he stuck to his guns that Flo was a real person with a real social security number and that she pays taxes.

ALMOST as bad as him constantly telling me “you need renters insurance” even though I kept saying I own my home (with RC not ACV coverage even) and don’t rent it….even though I still wouldn’t need renters insurance since my tenants would be the ones who would sign up for that coverage, not I.

Amherst is the #2 ranked liberal arts college in the US. Great point, sorry Agent, even Polar clearly disagrees with you.

While I do not disagree with the basis of the article, we must consider the target of the monies paid for goods versus services. Goods typically put revenue in the hands of Main Street, while services typically fund Wall Street. Think of this in terms of the average Joe and whether she/he benefits from the export of certain classes. A manufactured good will typically require a greater input of human labor than will a service or IP sale. Today, much of the technology that we “export” is developed non-domestically, or when domestic, a high-skilled employee, who is often a Visa holder. We need to look at trade with an eye to how the average American benefits, rather than international corporations.

Are you saying you are ‘Living In the Past’ and remain in the era before the Industrial Revolution, when machines became prevalent in manufacturing, and greatly increased production volume while significantly reducing production costs?

Your focus on average Americans is near-sighted because corporations create jobs, and they decide on where to establish manufacturing plants or service centers. American workers are important, but the OVERALL picture cannot be de-emphasized in their favor.

I don’t like most of the current ‘equivalency’ tariff proposal talk. It is a tax on American consumers.
