    Net written premium declined 10% for Encompass. Way to go Encompass, a company that doesn’t what they want to do. I had 260,000 in premium with a 46% loss ratio and they made me cancel their contract. The regional manager said he was doing me a favor. I didn’t know at the time but he did.

      We had our run with Encompass as well. I had to move my business to other markets because they just weren’t competitive and the service was nothing to write home about. Best decision I ever made.

    Im a retired Allstate agent, had a few decades with them. They took their medicine in terms of rates and tighter underwriting guidelines early. It hurts to be on the front edge of that trend but they will make up a lot of ground against the carriers that moved slower. I’ve seen that cycle, good and bad, a few times.

      Seems to me they have had a fair amount of trouble with their captive agents on the contracts, commissions etc to the point of the agents forming a guild/union to deal with management.
