How they are going to appease all wings of the party to get this to 50+ votes is beyond me. You have moderates who say this is too harsh, and conservatives who say it is too humane.

Who will win in this battle of wits?

I think they will find some way to do it within the Republican party. Conservative Congressional leadership will move heaven and earth to prevent having to negotiate with Democrats or independents on this. There has been too much animosity on this issue for the last decade or so between individual citizens and between their elected representatives for negotiation across any ideological lines (even though it would be ideal).

Hey Bill, how has it worked out for the Middle Class on down who signed up for the disaster known as Oblamacare & Medicaid? If you are a current resident of Iowa, you are down to one market and it is raising premiums 43%. It has happened all across the country. A disaster by any other name is still a disaster.

            Agent,

If this was such a great plan, how come both Conservative and Moderate Republicans are against it?

Time to start over and bring Democrats into the conversation. They are going to need someone to blame.

Sooo…you think 22 million people losing healthcare altogether is better? And, you do realize that premiums are expected to rise significantly for many Americans under the Republican’s plan, if they can get coverage at all. Yes, some will see a reduction but none of the people who need it will not see it (e.g. the elderly, disabled, people with pre-existing conditions).
The Republican party seems to be simply trying to follow through with a campaign promise regardless of the impact. They are to afraid they won’t be re-elected to actually build something constructive and beneficial to all.
How about we forget about the ACA, put away our hatred for those on the other side of the aisle and find a way to prevent families from going bankrupt because of the outrageous cost of healthcare.

No, bill, no one in their right minds believes the CBO’s FAKE NEWS about 22 million ‘losing’ coverage. The majority are going to have FREEDOM TO CHOOSE THEIR FATE. Many will choose as they did before the travesty of ACA.

I would thoroughly love to understand how that work Agent. I am three years until eligible retirement. If this passes, I will be forced to work until retirement age due to the radical increase in premiums for 50 – 65. For my friends in the rural part of my state who were never employed but fed this fine country for their entire life, their medical care is being stripped. For my aunt that has been disabled her entire life, will also lose her benefits. As a life long GOP member, I am appalled at the sheer ignorance of the party. Trump needs to be a LEADER; get Schumer and McConnell in a room and tell them they don’t leave until they figure it our for AMERICA not the &*^%$ party. God help us.

Seems to most of us the Republican Party is much better at demonizing than actually governing. I think they are still bitter that a black Democratic President named Barrack Hussein Obama signed their healthcare solution into law. Now, they have to stand in opposition to a solution they were once in favor of because they cannot allow President Obama any victories. They pledged not to at the Caucus Room Restaurant the night of his initial inauguration. #treason

Actually, it’s US Citizens who are UPSET after finding out what’s in it (ACA) and how much it’s costing for inferior coverage and coverages that aren’t needed.

You can say that isn’t happening, but the evidence exists in the form of a death spiral, and the inevitable end of ACA CO-OPs.

Worst leadership example ever. He grades a D at best on a scale. Give me a single corporation that would hire this guy right now. He would have been fired just on the basis of conflicting message with corporate policy and false statements. He operates on the basis of semi-plausible deniability. This way he can shift blame to House and Senate when it fails and keep his “base” happy.

Don’t worry, his base will continue to eat it up.

Trump is seen as an embarrassment in every country except Russia (for some unknown reason). He refuses to lead the world, and refuses to lead America into the 21st century.

For example, your original post in the thread was full of real anecdotes of people getting screwed by this current bill, but instead of addressing them, they fall back on talking points.

“CalDude, that’s great that all those people are going to lose their healthcare! Now Americans have the freedom of choice!!”

            Remember folks:

            1. Republicans were the first to propose the plan which eventually became the ACA. Right-wing think-tanks like the Heritage Foundation supported it until Democrats did, then they were against it. If they can’t win, they will do everything in their power to make sure that someone else can’t either, even if it ends up ruining the lives of millions of Americans.

            2. No one was forced to carry insurance. They were forced to give up tax credits if they opted not to take it, since people without insurance are a drain on the economy and are a financial risk for communities large and small all across the country. The Republican plan should be billed as GOPCare or RepubliCare so that people don’t forget when they are getting bent over at the hospital (and not for a check-up, if you get my drift). TrumpCare puts all the blame on Trump, when he has been, as always, an unwitting observer of this process, not a leader. Plus, Trump will be out of office soon and if Republicans distance themselves from Trump before he loses reelection, they will be able to do so from this bill,as well, if it is colloquially called “TrumpCare”

Go ahead and pass RepubliCare and see what happens when the most maligned of the population stops being able to access care, and can’t afford it even worse than with Obamacare.

Bill, do you think Oblama read the ACA before it was passed? He did make 28 speeches saying how great it would be and his lieutenant Pelosi-Galore said she had to pass it to see what was in it. She didn’t read it either. All it turned out to be was one massive lie to the American People. Gee, I wonder why all those Democratic seats have been lost, the Governorships, the State Legislatures. Massive failure by Progressive Democrats who thought they had put one over on the people.

OK, that’s not fair, there should have been a third option:

Fly Zombie. No one could regurgitate the garbage you spew in an average post, much like a housefly vomits its stomach contents to break down its food to reconsume it, unless you were a Fly Zombie.

          Your morning schedule:

9:00 am. Roll out of bed after an intense night of being pissed at Obama.

9:02 am: Turn on Right-Wing TV/Radio. Agree with everything all the time. Feel outraged when the reporters on all the mean things said about the President. How Rude!

9:30 am: Flip over to actual news sources and become furious that they are covering entirely different news and aren’t talking about how amazing of a job our dear leader is at making America Great Again.

10:00 am: Turn on your HP laptop, peruse Insurance Journal for the latest news.

10:30 am: vomit all over your screen and keyboard, which through the power of magic, transforms into somewhat legible posts. Each post must use at least 5 of these “words,” or you receive an electrical shock: libitteral, MAGA, Obama, bear culpa, or DC sources.

11:00 am: Several people take time out of their work days to refute points in calm, logical ways. A few people become bothered by your posts and are more forceful.

11:02 am: Actively ignore the conversation at hand, your previous comments, sources posted, and so on.

11:03 am: Regurgitate lies, half-truths, complete lies, and falsehoods.

12:17 pm: Act like the victim. Express how excited you are about Trump and his amazing leadership.

1:48 pm: Ignore the latest outrage that Trump has caused for himself.

2:01 pm: More inane babbling about your 5 favorite words.

3:52 pm: Eat breakfast. Gotta fuel up for more nonsense vomiting for the last third of the day.

          5:12 pm: Alone time.

          8:00 pm: Hannity repeats.

          9:00 pm: Hannity Live

10:00 pm: Hannity Dreamboat Fanclub Hour

11:00 pm: Accidentally think about Obama’s 8 years of tact and dignity. Immediately be thrown into a rage. Get up from your bed too fast, which causes you to pass out in bed.

9:00 am: Rinse, repeat. Learn nothing, progress at nothing.

You don’t have to be Republican to be a jerk, there are enough jerks for both sides of the aisle, unfortunately.

It would be fantastic to see California pass single-payer healthcare, but what the state house passed had zero ways to implement it. That is obviously a huge red-flag that what they had passed carried zero waste. Implementing a single-payer system without funding it would be disastrous for our nation’s largest economy, and therefore for the nation as a whole.
