This will be wonderful for not only the disabled but whole swaths of people. Just imagine how much time people would save if they were able to do little things like have their car pick up and drop off their kid every morning?

We are still years away from practical application for someone without a license/able to see to operate the vehicle. When you consider the mapping involved that every speed bump, every stop sign, every lane ending – merge right (or left), every intersection that you want to turn left without a green arrow that tells the system it is ok to proceed. Just a lot of work to do to get the cars ready for the seeing world. It will be wonderful when those that can’t currently drive a car can have that freedom of transportation whenever they want.

So wonderful. It will be the blind leading the blind. Tesla couldn’t even see an 18 wheeler right in front of it.
