So if we have 16 Blue State AG’s defending subsidies, does that mean that 34 AG’s are not asking for the freebies? Trump is simply going to force the issue and the subsidies should first be cut off for the carved out Congressional Health Plan. That should get some action soon.

I disagree personally. I think that the subsidies should stay in place until a replacement is passed. To me, it feels like turning off the lights in a factory that will close eventually, just without knowing when. It creates more worries for insureds and more problems for insurers.

As a tax paying American I am already paying my percentage of these outrageous amounts. I do tnough tend to agree that the states do have skin in the game and as such should have the right to enter in to the action as a co member of the action.

Do I agree with the stupid single payer plan we have in place now heck no but as we have it the disruption that pulling the funds from it would cause is not the solution. I have to disagree with the POTUS on this one as it is kind of like the kid who does not like the game and takes his ball and goes home. Let’s fix the game. I encourage all of the gang bangers in congress to hang up the crips and bloods bandana’s and get off their proverbial behinds and come up with a workable solution to this mess.

Remember they were all hired to help the American people not their individual parties.

Maybe the good old days of torches, pitchforks and tar and feathers for corrupt politicians were not so bad after all.

There are a lot to lock up in DC, for sure. This is like a festering boil on the butt of the country. Time to lance it, put medicine on it and watch it recede.

Counterpoint, I disagree personally. We will not get anything done unless it is forced. Subsidies staying in place will just prolong the misery the American people have been feeling for 7+ years. I am ready for this to be over and force politicians to do the right thing, right now.

It’s only a matter of time before SCOTUS, including Justice Gorsuch, overturns this stupid move made by a frustrated liberal court.

First, Congress has the Constitutional power and responsibility to fund the govt. They can fund (allocate) the taxpayer’s money as they see fit to do so. The president does not have that power.

Second, the article is disingenuous regarding the “indigent” people that would otherwise be under Medicaid. The funding or de-funding of the insurance companies should not affect those people.

My concern of not subsidizing the insurance companies is that it will exacerbate the Obamacare nightmare even quicker and potentially move it to a real crisis situation. This would almost force the govt to completely overtake the industry. I’d prefer a more orderly transition back to healthcare normalcy than a reactive crisis “band aid”. That is why they need a solution NOW and not when it is full crisis mode.

integrity, I respect your opinion a lot. With the pending implosion right around the corner and politicians still posturing, the action needs to be forced. Get into their kitchens and they may have to do something. By the way, Oblamacare is unfixable. Progressives made it that way. They won’t own up to their disaster and now say just do a skinny repeal. What a joke that is.

^^ that’s how I read it too Planet. I bet neither of those guys will name one Progressive who is arguing for a ‘skinny repeal.’

Not sure why my post was deleted. I’ll try this. The subject of his sentence is “they” referring to progressives. So, progressives won’t own up to their (referring back to the subject which again, is progressives) disaster and now say (progressives are the only subject here) just do a skinny repeal. I concur, Confused.

No Progressive has come out and specifically said “do a skinny repeal”, but you all have very short memories since Shumer and others were first against any repeal, then said they were willing to “negotitate” provided that basically most of Obamacare stays intact (isn’t that a skinny repeal by a different name?), and NOW they are finally saying that Obamacare actually needs fixing.

Some of you libbies on this board questioned a few weeks ago and asked us to name the Dem’s that said it needed fixing.

Short memories, indeed! Maybe it’s dementia or Alzheimers, or maybe another failure to admit when you are wrong. Shift blame, then attack…the liberal way!

A skinny repeal is definitely not the same as applying fixes to the current law. You said no Progressive has come out and said to do a skinny repeal and I agree. None have voted in favor of that either. Ipso facto, Agent is wrong claiming Progressives are now saying they want to do a skinny repeal.

Thanks, Agent. As you know, inaction is still a decision. Inaction in this case is going to force “something”.

Full scale implosion, meaning no healthcare market for those that cannot afford it otherwise, will cause Congress to rush to a solution, which will likely be a single payer because they think the govt is the only solution. That could have a ripple effect in the private market and cause even greater disruption for those with employer or private healthcare plans.

        That would be disastrous.

Last time I checked, the founding fathers never said anything about needing to speak English and having a certain technical skill set in order to be in America. The Statue is a welcoming symbol to immigrants from all regions, of all languages, religions, and skill sets or lack thereof. We are a melting pot. This administration is working in opposition to the founding of this nation. Downright shameful.
