“AIG said in its lawsuit that Disney’s policy covered some defamation claims, but only if the company had first found an outside lawyer to say the statements it planned to broadcast were acceptable.” How is this possibly in an insurance contract? They expect ABC News to run every story by an attorney before they can broadcast it? I think it’s criminal how they treated this beef company but can’t understand AIG’s comment.
Have you ever negotiated a policy for an entity as large as this one? If accurate, it sounds like a brilliant risk management move by AIG and smart underwriting. It’s an insurance policy, not a suicide pact. AIG apparently knew about “fake news” before everyone else.

Disney/ABC is the pink slime in this case.
