“One of the things we voted for, I voted for, was a change in the attitude in D.C.,” said Dick Pingel, a 64-year-old Trump supporter and independent trucker from Plover, Wisconsin. “I guess if he doesn’t do anything about it, government’s not listening to the small guy again.”

Translation – I am 64 and don’t want to have to learn something new. I’ll be retiring soon. Paper copies are antiquated and get lost. Some drivers are notorious for messy cabs filled with loose paper logs. It’s beyond time for the electronic logging. And, do you know what else he voted for? A guy who has admitted to sexually assaulting women and been accused by at least 16 of them. I’d be willing to wager he hates Al Franken but thinks Roy Moore is right for Alabama. But, I bet he and I agree on Sundays – Go Pack Go!

It’s an Obama rule. Of course he’s going to delay it or get rid of it. That’s all he knows.

Nope. It’s a bad rule, and it’s beneficial to all but bureaucrats to revoke it.

Just saw an article about the 600 secret regulations pushed through by the former POTUS just before he left office. Cost of them if they stand is $15.9 Billion. Trump will get rid of them to the benefit of the American people. Finally, a President looking out for us. MAGA

@Chris.. “”All he knows?”” Obama was in 8 years and hardly did squat. He made it legal to marry and go to the bathroom.. President Trump has been in 11 months and did more than Obama already.. Wake up!!

@Martin – Someone else who drank the Kool-Aid. Are you one of his backers that he bragged about? “I could shoot someone on the street and not lose a vote?” Reversing the good that Obama did isn’t doing anything but being spiteful.

The problem with your claim is that there is no evidence that anything Obama did any good. HOW did these trucking rules do anything good?

I have direct knowledge of small truckers and their companies. They deliberately lie about how long they wait to load/unload vs. drive time to skirt rules. Some lie ALL the time and put the US driver at great risk. Why wouldn’t you want a system that more accurately reports and logs trucker drive times? Large companies log this all via gps and tech but small drivers don’t give a crap until they wreck into a family minivan…or a party bus filled with famous comics.

I have been in trucking for 40 years, now we have a tablet telling the drivers when he can drive or sleep. People must wake up to the fact that a driver goes on duty and has 14hrs to work and 11hrs is what they can drive on: 1st it has put everyone in a race against the clock (drivers are fighting with other drivers taking to long to fuel, shipping & receiving departments taking to much time)ect. I have ask drivers about their speeds, they have picked it up, Problem again racing the clock. Does that tablet know if driver is sick, in bad weather That inter into SAFTEY. But forced to go on or lose pay. Break the 14 hr consecutive rule and I believe the E log is a good thing. Drivers need to be able stop when in weather, sick, tired, equipment problems, ect.. BUT be able to work also. Drivers are not computers you turn on and off. This has nothing to with Obama or Trump personally only trucking safety. Humans racing against the clock, HOW DOES THIS ADD TO SAFTEY

I wonder about all those Mexican trucks rolling north with their goods and how many consecutive hours those drivers are driving. Bet they don’t have a tablet in their truck.
