    AIG stockholders hope Duperrault doesn’t in the near future say “If it does not fit, you must divest of it.”

    The last paragraph answers a question many have; “what Greenberg connection is there, this time?”.

    The purchase price of $5.6B versus the $3.6B MV is puzzling, and prior talks of $10B add more questions. The answer lies in the old cliche line (by an actuary) “If the present value in projected use after a sale exceeds the present value (not MV) in current use, a sale is likely to occur.”.
