Validus Specialty Underwriting Services Inc. announced the expansion of its product portfolio with an admitted, private company commercial directors and officers (D&O) policy.
With broad coverage, the new form provides management liability protection for private company business leaders, Validus Specialty said. The product is fully customizable and can provide D&O, employment practices liability, fiduciary liability, and commercial crime & cyber liability, on a combined or standalone basis.
“This private company D&O offering further fills out our suite of professional lines products at Validus. Brokers and clients should consider this team a go-to market for management liability solutions,” said Cathy Cossu, senior vice president of Professional Lines.
Concurrently, Julianne McAdams joined the company as senior underwriter of Commercial Directors and Officers Liability. McAdams will be based in Validus Specialty’s Atlanta offices and focus on complex risks across mid to upper middle market clients, inclusive of public and non profit organizations.
McAdams joins the Validus from Zurich North America where she worked as team lead (from January 2013 to January 2018), according to her LinkedIn profile. At Zurich, she specialized in portfolio management of middle market D&O, EPL, fiduciary, crime and kidnap & ransom (K&R) within the private and not-for-profit business sectors in the south region. Between July 2011 and October 2012, McAdams was an assistant underwriter for Chartis Europe Ltd., where she wrote general aviation risks in the London market. Prior to that, she was senior underwriter for Chartis Aerospace Insurance Services in Atlanta (between May 2006 and July 2001), the profile said.
Validus Specialty’s commercial D&O team also includes underwriters Pat Barton and Sharon Fusco, who manage the private company and non-profit sectors, respectively. The team offers fully customizable and manuscript policies to proactively mitigate management liability exposures, for both traditional and emerging risks, the company said.
The Commercial D&O team is part of Validus Specialty’s Professional Lines group, led by Cossu. The group has been broadening capacity and expanding its portfolio, including the recently announced fintech package and standalone cyber policies.
