Just another attempt by Liberal Democrats to shake down Big Oil through ANOTHER frivolous lawsuit intended to put Big Oil through a legal wringer. They’re seeking MORE money in a settlement that is based on public opinion, not legal merit. It’s often cheaper for Big Oil to settle rather than fight these suits and incur large legal expenses. But, I assume Big Oil may fight a weak suit such as this one.

We should sue Al Gore for starting this madness.

Legitimate climate science is changing all the time.

Blaming oil companies for “hiding” the data on Climate Change is the height of ludicrous. I don’t ever even remember an oil company trying to persuade me that Climate Change is no big deal. Ever. And I read a lot.

We live in desperate times for liberals. Shutting down speech is where tyrants go when they can’t persuade anyone with reason, logic and facts.

Doctored data by Fake Scientists. This country has been gradually cooling since 2000. Evidence is the N/Easterners plaguing the liberal N/E blowing down from the Arctic and the Polar cap is thicker than ever.

Al Gore did start the madness on Climate Change but President Trump is an idot for not listening to the scientists that can prove it. All of the weather that has been occurring is due to climate change. I feel so bad for the polar bears and for any other animal that depends on the cold and ic

If they can prove that oil companies knew that what they were doing was directly causing and augmenting the problems of climate change, then why not? This is like businesses involved in asbestos who were brought massive lawsuits once it became apparent that they were hiding knowledge of the dangers of asbestos inhalation from the public, or oil companies hiding the dangers of leaded gas from the public, and so on.

Of course, when you have things like this: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/exxon-knew-about-climate-change-almost-40-years-ago/ it’s pretty obvious that they knew internally, and decided to hide it so as to not ruin their exorbitant profits.

Such a shame that the majority of corporations are run by people who believe that money = morality.

I am fully prepared for our more degenerate readers to call Scientific American a left wing rag, since, you know, it has Scientific in the name…

It is generally the right on here who make the comments about right wing news sites, namely UW, Planet, Ron.

I’m not even going to address climate change on this one, not directly, as it is not my concern. My bigger concern is that on something which is certainly not proven, you want to assume they had full knowledge 40 years ago which still isn’t available today, and then want to punish the businesses on something unproven.

To hell with you. That type of mindset leads to totalitarian behavior. Your side talks about right wing extremists. What you just said has such ramifications I cannot believe you had the balls to say it.

As long as you get the bad guy, amirite?

What if they aren’t the bad guy, you sleaze? What if the government starts chasing after everyone with that same mentality: As long as they are the bad guy?

      It leads to fascism Bias.

Should read it generally the left.

You’re not cutting the bias. You’re strengthening it 20 fold.
