Trying to get 40 children to sit still and buckle up is nigh-on impossible. Good luck with that!
I rode a school bus as a kid and it was pure pandemonium. This is one of those nice ideas that comes apart in the execution.

Agreed, however if a few lives are saved due to seat belts being available, I think it is worth it.

I view this similar to kids being buckled in cars, or wearing helmets while riding a bike. If they start young enough, it just becomes the way things are done.

Good parenting will fix the problem. YOU WILL FASTEN THAT SEAT BELT JOHNNY or you will have me to deal with. No more whining, no excuses, period.

        Agent,
Real question – does “good parenting” mean to you the willingness to hit and spank your kids?

        Agent,
That is a very archaic way of thinking to fix this problem. Society changes and so does parenting. The notion that this stems from bad parenting is your theory. I would say that historically children misbehave frequently, especially toward those who are not their parent or family member. Yes today’s children have it easier, it does not mean we should revert to the old ways that have not been proven to work, but to instill fear instead. Seatbelt should have always been implemented due to the overall life saving aspect of them.

….but there currently no seatbelts on buses, sooooooo, yeah, parenting has nothing to do with this right now

      Oh, c’mon confused,
Clearly good parenting has everything to do with this. Good parents will teach their kids how to MacGyver their own seat belts on their bus. Otherwise, they’ll have Agent to deal with.

Let’s say all that is true Agent. Please explain how your “good parenting” can make a kid buckle up on a school bus when there aren’t any seat belts on the bus.
