So passengers should take a physical before taking a flight so they won’t have an emergency? They could just show it to the airline before boarding.

step 1 – read the article
step 2 – re-read it if you did not understand it the first time
step 3 – post something relevant to the article

The article never talked about the health of people prior to boarding the flight. This entire article is about IN-FLIGHT or ON-BOARD MEDICAL EMERGENCIES — such as acute pancreatitis, someone who lost consciousness in the air after using the bathroom, or someone who lost consciousness before takeoff.

I dare you to cite me ONE single sentence where anything remotely resembling a comment about pre-boarding and pre-screening of someone’s health is the topic herein.

Gallstones and alcohol abuse are the main causes of acute pancreatitis. Author of his own misfortune.

and the cause of gallstones in 20%-30% of the cases is unknown. how can anyone determine the cause of gallstones when the plane is at 30,000 feet and someone is curled up in the fetal position throwing up for nearly 7 hours? even IF it WAS caused by long-term alcohol use, you’re okay with someone being in that kind of paid for 7 hours?
