What’s REALLY unsafe about Tesla’s are the DRIVERS who don’t heed the audible and visual warnings when engaging and using the autopilot system, and who erroneously think “autopilot” is the same thing as “fully autonomous”. Add in the “Autopilot Buddy” this article talks about and that’s an even bigger recipe for disaster. It’s not the car … it’s the lack of awareness of the drivers.
Tesla should just take their gadgets off since they plainly don’t work to keep the driver safe. How many people need to be killed to realize this just doesn’t work?
Someone feeling a bit threatened by the inevitability of autonomous vehicles? Bad drivers are bad drivers, objectively speaking Tesla’s offer far more safety features than other vehicles. Maybe time to start thinking outside of your box if you are scared of big bad autonomous vehicles making the roadways overall much safer in the near future.
