Considering that real estate agents are treated like insurance agent after a loss ( my agent didn’t tell me I needed flood Insurance) by the client, I don’t believe the buyers are not informed. After Harvey, there are many law suites going on against the real estate agent and insurance agent for not telling the client that they need flood insurance. Real Estate agents that I know are not getting signed statements letting all know that flood insurance was discussed and either bought or rejected. And look at the Certificate that tells the customer what zone they are in. Last one I looked at for an X Zone stated “insurance not required”. And if not required, did not FEMA tell the client insurance is not required? if not required, why would they buy?
