      1. Let’s hope that Sandusky and Nassar are getting a dose of their own medicine in prison.
      2. Ironic that the person in the article speaking out against the priest abuse is named Churches.

It is true that these kinds of scandals were covered up in the past, not just in religion but pretty much everywhere. Times are changing and more things are spoken about freely now. It’s time for organizations to get in front of scandals, report them and tell how they will be fixed going forward.

Why you are even mentioning the bias of including Jim Jordan and/or people “merely accused of such”? The article doesn’t speak to that at all. It’s just weird. You seem to find a politics in everything you read here. Maybe it’s time to get back to work!

Why must everything turn into partisan politics? This is about victims plain and simple. I don’t think any of these victims cared if their perpetrators were republican, democrat, liberal, or conservative. This is wrong no matter what your political affiliation.

I agree. So, why did the author include Jordan (Republican) and not …. Clinton, Franken, Kennedy, Dodd,… ?

The author included Jordan because of his time spent at Ohio State – which has recently been in the news for the mentioned abuse scandal, and the possibility that Jordan knew of the accusations and did nothing – similar to the situation that tarnished Joe Paterno’s legacy at Penn State… They didn’t mention him because he was a republican.

The evidence against Jordan is non-existent and your argument that the issue is relevant because the Ohio State story is “fresh” is contradicted by the author’s focus on the abuse scandal at Penn State, which is over 10 years old.

Since then, we have had Hollywood outed, dozens of media and journalists outed, lots of liberal politicians outed but the author decided not to include those in his discussion of “institutional secrecy”.

The author mentioned a completely innocent Jim Jordan and no other politician because Jordan is a conservative.

I used to hear tons of complaints from you and the conservative crowd about universities and colleges being a liberal breading ground, but for some reason the conservative comments on this article haven’t mentioned that; just that its unfair to accuse the conservatives.

Take a break from the them vs us mentality. Every “institution” mentioned has had a serious problem; an undeniable fact. They are the largest and most well known cases of serial abuse we’ve ever seen in the US. Stop attempting to discredit the entirety of the facts presented because there was a mention of a republican representative – who is innocent – yet still relevant to the story.

It’s prevalent across all society. We’ve had a plethora of teacher – student scandals also in our schools, seems like once a week here in the news. To blame liberal media is short sighted. Here we’ve also had two prominent, Non-Catholic pastors convicted of pedophile crimes with young girls.

If you read any of the investigation in Pa. you will learn that there is a culture of homosexuals in the Catholic priests. Young men who actually wanted to serve God were preyed on in the school of priests (whatever in the heck that is). The church knows about it and refuses to do anything about it. That makes them even more evil than the other institutions that have problems with abuse. Are priests every prosecuted or are they immune? If they confess their “sin” to another priest he isn’t allowed to reveal the source of the illegal act. They are on a whole different level of sin because they have allowed this to go on forever and you could say they are providing homos access to unwitting members of the church by placing these perverts in churches. Heinous.

There are child predators who prey on girls of course. And many of them work to put themselves in a position to do so, just like the doctor for the US women’s gymnastics team. He was not there by accident. If you study child predators, they often look for positions of opportunity, working in and around schools, sports teams, youth groups.

While not excusing the catholic church in the slightest, you have to ask if the priesthood was attractive to homosexual child predators from the get go, since priests are usually trusted around children.

I am not saying that ALL homosexuals are all child molestors. Please don’t go there. But to say that none of them are is ignoring the reality of who was molested. People are quick to say that the church is at fault because of the vow of celibacy. I think it might be more obvious than that; the priesthood might be attractive to child molestors because of the trust most people have in priests, allowing the predators opportunity available almost nowhere else.

Yes, I agree Craig, they do work to put themselves in those positions. Like a certain orange individual who ran certain Miss Teen USA pageants and admitted to going backstage for the purpose of seeing them in undress.

Having worked for several large corps over the years if an employee brings up something is off the reply often is,’that can’t happen.’ If I understand the story correctly it took a whistleblower priest to get the state involved.

I heard a statistic on WJR the other day, by a caller, who said pedos are 1. some percent of the population while the percent of priests who are is less than 1/2 percent. But not an excuse, and not an excuse for the coverup.

A priest who (identity) divulges what they hear in the confessional is excommunicated at the moment they do so. Do we have any idea of whether these sins were confessed or not?

Oh, George, Ohio State is the institution, and Jim Jordan is being named in this article because of what? Because he is in Congress, a Republican in Congress. Nobody gives a damn about Jim Jordan if he never ran for Congress. Just like Miramax is an (unnamed in this article) institution, where Harvey worked. Just like the NY Times, where more than one pervert worked for years without anyone saying a damn thing until this year. Just like PBS is an institution, where Charlie Rose worked for years. Just like CBS, where Les Moonves just got outed. Just like Congress is an institution, where Al Franken worked. Just like NBC is an institution, where Matt Lauer worked. Getting bored? Me too. I could go on for days. Google list of sexual perverts 2019. Count the liberals. Then count the conservatives on the list. The writer is a partisan clown.

Why does Lloyds of London keep writing sexual abuse coverage for these guys? You think about that the next time you applaud gun owners losing their liability protection. It almost seems like Liberals are ok with the sexual abuse so they want to keep their coverage. Things that make you go hmmmm.

One of the priests that was revealed was mine in the late 70’s or early 80’s. I had moved several years before and my sister told me that he was moved due to molesting boys.

Where is the outrage for the parents that went to the church to report instead of going to POLICE? Ca-ching, I say to you.

Can the Pope be impeached? He has let this abomination in the eyes of the Lord go on for years and did nothing about it. Think the Catholic Church will be losing a lot of parishioners before all is said and done.
