This is, in essence, a good service by an organization that has been politically slanted to the point of reprehensible behavior regarding conservatives. This points to a potential motive, in the author’s opinion:

” Facebook has been beset by a tough year of headlines about its role in election meddling as well as concerns about stalling user growth that have weighed on its shares; proving its role as a helpful go-to place for information during emergencies could help offset some of these issues in the minds of users and investors. ”

So, I suspect there may be some intent to save Facebook from a downward spiral.

I prefer that they simply post links to OFFICIAL, well-recognized, government agencies and non-profit organizations that offer disaster relief and Nat Cat loss mitigation information. Postings by amateurs on social media about Natural Disasters may be more harmful than helpful if the advice is misguided or incorrect.
