My firm spends over 5k a month with Google and just had a chat with their representatives who was of course in denial about any bias, though she said if there were then “it has been corrected.” If your firm or agency spending over 1k with Google and you believe what they have been doing is wrong, it’s time to speak up. My position with them was “I don’t want to be funding or participating in this bias.” Political bias in the workplace is really no different than racial bias, the goal is to essentially take away your right to your opinion by intimidation tactics. If you don’t follow suit, then they fire you. In Google’s case, it appears to be widespread across the company and it there have been reports that there is bias in there search results, though this corroborated. Anyway those spending money with Google need to put the heat on them, talk to your sales representatives and let them know that you don’t tolerate political bias.

This should have said “though it has not been corroborated.”

If you don’t like it, don’t use Google. Free market solution right there!

People you do business with everyday have political opinions. Do you ask someone’s political affiliation before trying to extend a product of service? Or, do you focus on your bottom line? Is Google going to help your bottom line? Does it really matter at all who the powers that be at Google vote for? I don’t care who my customers vote for nor any services that can help my profitability.

Seems a little snow-flakey to worry about whether or not your search engine is a conservative safe spot. I’d worry more about the business results they are producing for the $5K you spend than who they vote for. That is sort of like someone who leans left saying they are going to pull their 401K because the Koch Bros have their hands in the investments.

Damore was not fired for his political leanings but for selectively circulating a junk science memo claiming that his female coworkers were biologically unsuited for their jobs.

Really? I never heard that before and I would love to see the “junk science memo” you refer to. Since I have followed this story closely, I am surprised I never heard reference to any science memo, junk or otherwise.

Can you send me the junk science memo link?

Larry Summers, a good liberal, was ousted from Harvard for essentially saying what Damore said: that women may have inherent interests that are different from the interests more typical of men. And these interests may lead most women to prefer occupations other than math and science-related jobs.

WHAT? You mean women and men are biologically DIFFERENT???? You can’t say that in P.C. Land!!

(Unless you are referring to the 71 different genders that liberals insist on. Then it is okay to say it.)

Thanks for the lecture, Captain Tramp. The article is by definition political. It has to do with being able to state conservative opinions in the workplace as freely as one can speak liberal opinions. Comments are as “on point” as possible as a result.

Ok, I have a simple question for both Agent and Craig, or whomever else would like to stick to this point.. Which sex would you classify a person born with AIS (androgen insensitivity syndrome), Male or Female?

Answer: male. “Genetically male.” (Next Pointless Question Please)

“Androgen insensitivity syndrome is a condition that affects sexual development before birth and during puberty. People with this condition are genetically male, with one X chromosome and one Y chromosome in each cell. Because their bodies are unable to respond to certain male sex hormones (called androgens), they may have mostly female external sex characteristics or signs of both male and female sexual development.”

            Craig,

So even though the individual with AIS will appear female, have female organs (excluding specifically ovaries and a uterus), and everyone will perceive them as female, they should be listed as male? Even, when in most cases people are completely unaware that this even exists in the person?

This would really beg the question.. If the person is “Genetically male” but appears for all intents and purposes female.. Which bathroom do they use?

I mean if you want to take that literally, then yes. Obviously that quote has nothing to do with politics, so why are you using it. That in no way means that you are only intelligent if you are Christian. My local priest has mentioned multiple times people that use this to justify their superiority are having their hearts moved to the left. I think that perfectly implies hear how foolish you are being.

You have not followed this story close enough if you have not read the memo craig, or you are just reading sites with high bias that choose to leave this out. The memo is called Googles Ideological Echo Chamber. This is what he was fired for and google did admit it was due to this paper he circulated around his office.

If you don’t know the absolute basics you haven’t followed the story closely. You’ve surely posted on it a lot, but that doesn’t mean you’ve followed it. His moronic manifesto was loaded with Wikipedia citations, almost all of which have been debunked for decades. He was fired because he wouldn’t stop spreading his misogynistic, disproven theories. You can’t work in a technical field if you are willing to ignore reality.

Here is what is your beef: you disagree. Wah. Wah.
