While I am happy with the suggestion in this article that I am not subject to the exemptions outlined earlier in the initial regs, I just finished a meeting with our CPA’s yesterday after these new regs were finalized by the Treasury. They contradict this article and say that our business, because of providing “personal advice” and that our commission income is reliant on that personal advice, is considered still part of the businesses listed in the exemptions. Now I am really confused?

Time to get a new CPA, one who is used to working with Insurance Agents. Reminds me of the so-called “financial advisors” who recommend against getting annuities. The CPAs and the EAs will soon become familiar with this new IRS guidance, and will help you to file your taxes accordingly.

I expect the Dems to go after this ruling and try to increase taxes on agents.

rob, we have been calling out libs like you for years. How about you go after Planet on some of his posts for a change? Not going to happen because you think just like him. Now, you are free to call me all the names you want. Down vote me ad nauseum. I couldn’t care less.

Polar, I have had discussions with IJ honchos about this problem and it is falling on deaf ears.

you mean after repeatedly insulting Andrew’s journalistic integrity, accusing him of blatant liberal bias and other BOT conspiracies, and making repeated ad hoc attacks against pretty much anyone here who disagrees with you, he didn’t immediately drop what he was doing and cater to your needs? I’m SHOCKED….SHOCKED, I tell you.

Not a lefty, just a middle-of-the-road moderate not blinded by partisanship. I didn’t vote for Obama for either term, but I also didn’t vote for Trump in 2016 and don’t plan to in 2020 (though I’d consider voting for Pence). As you can see, they also allow people to downvote my comments (us “lefties”, according to you). But thanks for playing!

Confused, did you change your moniker to rob? You sound a lot like Confused. Yes, it is true IJ has leaned left for several years now and it is apparent to everyone but you.
