This is great news – – – that the Feds are pursuing REAL criminals rather than wasting taxpayer money on politically motivated investigations (that were based on a fake dossier paid for by the DNC and the Clinton campaign)!
The opioids crisis has resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of US citizens, and was largely ignored until the last two years. This prosecution may lead to a reduction of the problem, but many more such investigations and prosecutions are needed.
The opioid epidemic has been incredible and the states that have been affected the most severely really need a ‘fall guy’ so that blame can be placed properly. Sounds to me like the CEO was doing what CEO’s are paid to do, but blaming him/them for making the epidemic worse is pretty lame. Granted, there could be evidence that hasn’t been made public that points a crooked finger at these exec’s and maybe they did some egregious things, but if they did, I haven’t read it.
Addicts have been finding ways to get high for a long time and ‘opioid’ is just the latest in a long line of substances these addicts have found to abuse. Take away opioids and they’ll find something else. Trying to blame the manufacturer because ‘they were greedy’ is a pathetic argument.

It’s a good start.
