This is one of the great mysteries of 2019!

Here in California, home of more lawyers and lawsuits than anywhere else on Earth, scooters were placed all over for anyone and everyone to ride. Without a helmet. Without instruction or practice. And often after drinking!

Lots of serious injuries – including head injuries – were guaranteed. Who couldn’t see this coming from day one? (If some broker obtained insurance for these scooter companies, I want to meet him or her and shake their hand.)

Are they allowed to text while riding their scooters?

They aren’t supposed to, but here in San Diego, there is no enforcement of any of the scooter regulations, so you can pretty do whatever you want to. It is ludicrous.

Mich allows no helmets for several years now, on motorcycles. Yet, auto drivers have to wear their seat belts.

And in PA, motorcyclists are not required to wear helmets also but kids under 18 are required to wear them when riding bicycles.
