Philadelphia Insurance Names Doyle Co-Chief Underwriting Officer; Adds 3 Senior VPs

Philadelphia Insurance Companies has appointed John Doyle as a co-chief underwriting officer and promoted three vice presidents to senior vice president roles.

Doyle is now shares the underwriting officer responsibilities along with President John Glomb. In this new role, Doyle will have oversight responsibility of PHLY’s Human Service, Real Estate, and Business Auto divisions.

Cory Davis, Kimberly Hamilton and Brent Skiles were named senior vice presidents.

Doyle has spent his entire 30-year career at PHLY. He has worked in claims department, product development and underwriting. He assisted in the development and launch of commercial products including most of PHLY’s current Sports & Recreation products. He has been involved in corporate initiatives to improve profitability, process flow, and underwriting standards.

As senior vice president of Marketing, Davis will lead PHLY’s Midwest territory that covers 19 states. His insurance career began in 1993 as a sales representative before joining PHLY as a production underwriter in April of 1998. Davis later served as regional sales manager before being named the regional vice president of PHLY’s Central region in 2009.

Hamilton will serve as division head of the Public Service and Sports & Recreation teams as senior vice president of Underwriting. She joined PHLY in 2003 and served in several product and underwriting management positions before being named vice president in 2014. Most recently, she managed the Midwest territory of the Human Service division and served as Umbrella Liability Product Manager.

As senior vice president of Insurance Operations, Skiles will oversee organizational transformation initiatives that focus on small business as well as optimizing PHLY’s Customer Service division. After starting his career in claims, he joined PHLY and has handled various underwriting and operational roles over the past 15 years. He was appointed vice president of Underwriting at PHLY in 2015.
