Just remember, like Flint, the republicans who profited will be aided by republicans trying to hide the truth about any water contamination. The GOP has shown a history of covering or hiding evidence, whether it’s about their president’s shady dealings, Flint’s water, or everyone’s water.

A mistake your republican governor tried to cover up. What’s worse, incompetence or malicious attempts to hide the truth? I know you’re fine with incompetence, look at your president after all.

Oh, I see. The kids who were poisoned by lead aren’t important. Only your strained attempts to blame Republicans for a Democrat-only decision to bring in polluted water.

            Got it.

Jon – As the biggest critic of what sources people use on this site, you would think you would be more careful in the links you post. That article does not, in any way, indicate that the governor deliberately tried to cover it up. Negligence is not the same as a “cover up”. An investigation is not the same as a guilty verdict.

I usually agree with you when you are poking holes in Craig & team’s sources, but you have to hold yourself to the same standard. Otherwise, you are just a mirror image of them on the other side of the aisle.

Focus my insurance peeps, focus! Water has PFA’s, we drink it, our families drink it. We need to use less single use plastics. I get it, politicians are indeed influenced by lobby groups, and there’s only two parties. One or the other is going to be at fault but both are. The root cause is complicated but I bet, if we follow the dollar trail, we’ll find our answer.

They’re all cities in states that went Republican? Just because larger cities tend to be more democratically leaning (What do you know, large groups of intelligent professionals lean more towards liberalism than conservatism, only you don’t know why) you’re going to try and convince me that Louisiana is a democrat state? Or Florida? At best Florida and Pennsylvania are back and forth, but once again the states have Republican leadership. You really TRY to deflect, you’re just not very good at this, Craig.

Since you misrepresent something almost every single day? Wild stuff man. Jon – Again, read the article you used as a source. It was a local emergency manager that made the decision to divert the water.

The state government did a bad job of responding to complaints and not investigating the issue, but it was not their decision that caused the pollution.

Well CC, two items to note:
1 – Reading past the 1st paragraphs and viewing the article with related graphs, you will note the top three areas are: Brunswick County NC, Quad Cities, IA and Miami, FL.
2 – What they have in common is high chemical levels – not a political alignment.
Nice try though – keep filtering and stirring the pot.

            Craig,

I have said this on the other article, but you probably missed it. The federal reserve does report on facts only (but you can argue that all government agencies are biased under their respective presidents).

the article you linked is not a fact based reporting, but it is a mix of facts from the feds and opinions on how to look at the whole picture. The issue is that they do not discuss things that can skew the data when you take into account places that raised their minimum wage to $15 (sometimes this is a 100% increase in wages). This is a huge jump and skews the data to show the bottom 25% is having their wages grow faster than the top 25%. This was not discussed, and I think it is an important factor when talking about wage growth.

Wrong, Craig. Municipalities heavily depend on the state for funding infrastructure projects including for water. But regardless it is a stupid argument to blame one party or administration for a problem that has built over decades.

I totally agree! It is ridiculous that Jon and others tried to make this a partisan issue. My responses were to point out how silly they were.

(By the way, infrastructure isn’t the issue. Water purity is the issue, which is a city issue nearly everywhere. That is the reason the article focused on localities and not states. For what it is worth.)
