I think it is wrong for Google to capture data off of private Wi-Fi networks – why do they need that data? But, to win a large settlement in this case, don’t the plaintiffs need to prove damages? Doesn’t sound like they can prove Google did anything harmful with the data. What’s the scoop?
Would be great if the judgement is thrown out since the purpose was to make sure privacy standards are met – which happened already. Tired of law firms getting huge contingency payments and “victims” getting little (or in this case – nothing)
