I was just visiting with my server at lunch about this. She is afraid. She has had to serve people who are visibly sick, cleaning up used tissues off the table. She said she didn’t have health insurance, and couldn’t afford it if she has to self-quarantine for 2-weeks or more. Altruistically, her main worry is that she would be unknowingly passing COVID-19 to her elderly patrons and infect someone that wouldn’t survive the virus.

Private health & taxpayers need to take the hit and allow a reform. There are too many service industry, gig, and under-employed people that are in danger under the current system.

Private health insurers and taxpayers will ‘take a hit’ regardless of anyone’s decision to make them pay. Testing and treatment expenses for COVID-19 covered under (nearly?) all A&H policies will be passed onto future policyholders and patients of medical providers who do not recoup all costs they incur for COVID-19.

I don’t agree, or understand why, taxpayers should be held accountable to pay expenses incurred by the failure of the governments, Federal and State, to screen people entering the US, legally or illegally. Further, why should taxpayers subsidize the health care and business interruption costs resulting due to viruses and other health / life threats caused by those entering illegally? Illegal entry into the US is being encouraged and aided by Sanctuary City / State policies set by a minority of taxpayers supporting a minority of liberal politicians who enact and enable such dangerous and harmful policies. Either those cities and states must be held accountable, monetarily and legally, or we must accept the higher costs of living we did not agree to.

You’re blaming illegal entry with zero data on that. The truth is, this is a virus caused by the wealthy. This started in China and Italy, poor people aren’t travelling from Italy to the US. My brother just had a job offer from a woman literally travelling on the last plane from Italy to the US who wanted work done on a new custom home in Florida as soon as she traveled back to the states. Once again, the wealthiest americans are carelessly causing problems for the rest of the country. Use some common sense, illegal immigrants from Italy and China didn’t bring in disease, it was careless wealthy citizens. Once again, simply taxing the rich would solve problems for your average american here.

Please don’t forget an important group of people in our lives, they are musicians who are not part of a sponsored employees of an entity. There are educated musicians who perform at large gathering events such as weddings, restaurants, club/bars, cruise ships, and touring musicians. This group of people can’t work from home? They depend on each day/night they perform. How will they pay their bills?

Everyone concerned with costs of living expenses we are all incurring that may/ will not be paid due to shutdowns and business retrenching of hours and services should agree that the only effective government intervention into business activity is a state legislated moratorium on bill collections for mortgages, car loans, student loans, credit card payments, etc. I will not suggest specific details as to what restrictions or postponements should be enacted. Those details should be discussed and agreed to by the parties involved, political or private.

It isn’t only wealthy Americans that are traveling. I have been out of the country and am by no means wealthy. I know several families who have students traveling abroad, they are by no means wealthy. Also people from other countries have traveled into the US and could have very well carried the virus here unknowingly, not all of them were wealthy people. We cannot blame just wealthy Americans……this virus is horrible and spreading and there are so many unknowns but it isn’t fair to blame only wealthy Americans for bringing this to the US.

Sak, I understand that by blanket statements there will always be exceptions, totally. I try to avoid blanket generalizations because of this, it’s hard not to lump in some undeservedly when you use those.

Having said that, while I would agree that not all people travelling outside of the country are wealthy, I think you’ll find the vast majority are making far more than the people making less in this country. I would venture to say that while many don’t think they’re wealthy, if you’re able to afford sending students to travel abroad you’re definitely in a higher economic class the majority of americans in this day and age. Sure, it might be a little unfair to blame wealthy americans for bringing this in to the US. But so what? It’s also a little unfair that people born rich stay rich without ever working a day in their life. It’s a little unfair that the wealthiest americans profit from polluting the planet and contributing to climate change, but then insist that they shouldn’t. It’s a little unfair that the wealthiest americans pay less in taxses than the poorest. It’s a little unfair that the IRS refuses to audit the rich because it’s more expensive than auditing the poor. Our country has never been fair, it’s time in my opinion for it to be unfair to the most well-off for once.

We all know it doesn’t matter who started it. What matters is how we responded to it. And, up until about 7-10 days ago, this administration did not take it seriously. They didn’t listen to the health officials. They tried to create their own narrative and they misled their own followers. Which, in turn, has spread the virus. Now we have this administration trying to gaslight us all and I’m having none of it. This president said it was a hoax. This president said he doesn’t believe the numbers. He said it’s nothing more than the common cold or flu. He said we have tremendous control over the transmission. This president said it will miraculously disappear come April. This president said it was another way the democratic party was trying to impeach him. He is the one who politicized it at rally after rally. He is the one who should be held accountable for not having taken it as seriously as it should have been from day 1. Instead, he’s out there saying he scores a 10 out of 10. The man is a menace and anyone who’s willing to follow him after a situation like this? Well, that’s who I’m praying for right now.

I seriously laugh at your Trump hate. Truly.

Here is what we are doing: experts say that about half of all Americans will get COVID-19 at some point. We are just protecting the health care industry from getting over-run. That’s it.

People at risk – older people and people like my brother with cancer – could protect themselves without all of the rest of society shutting down. They could simply avoid the public until a vaccine is produced.

But instead, panic! Toilet Paper! Water bottles! None of which will stop about half of Americans from contracting COVID at some point, according to the experts, and for most it will be no big deal. We are simply “flattening the curve” as they say. But not stopping it. It is just too contagious.

And so your attacks on Trump are classic, ignorant, sheep-like non-thinking. Trump has been the voice of reason. The stock market IS oversold. Goldman Sachs predicts it will come back 100% by year end.

Millions of Americans may have COVID today without even knowing it, with NO symptoms at all. That’s how innocuous it is for most people.

            TRUMP! says the sheep.

What is sad. You have companies like Confie Seguros/Freeway keeping their offices staffed. They are telling us ladies, we do not have anything to fear. Keep on selling, in fact sell Telemedicine. We need to know the companies out there who are showing NOT 1% to care, instead it is their profits only. So many are worried, but we have no voice. What can we do. They say to take some medicine to calm your nerves. They say we can use our vacation time if we want to leave early. I need to find a new insurance company to call home.

I know what would have helped. Not acting like this was a democratic hoax. Accepting the test kits the WHO was trying to give us. Not saying, “We’re going from 15 cases to 0 and it will miraculously disappear.” You know, actually preparing because the government knew about this back in December, maybe even earlier than that. Incompetence have led us to where we are today. It’s not immigration, it’s not wealthy people, it’s simply incompetence. It’s a tragedy it takes a pandemic to get some of us to believe in science. Un-freaking real! Next up, we go the way of Italy because have idiots like Devin Nunes who ignores guidelines about trying to keep people from restaurants, bars, theaters, and the like. Funny how he is NOW, just a day later, trying to walk that back. Listen to the health officials, people, and you would have done a better job of mitigating this. He didn’t start changing his tune until the Dow dropped to levels not seen since 1987. Had he handled this pandemic like a real leader, he could have staved that off a bit. Keep whining buddy, I noticed you ignored that your posts don’t deal with WHO or Tests. You did not prove my fake news comments wrong because they are correct.

Keep it up, you double down when wrong. Hi Trump.

Wow, fake news. We did not reject test kits. The WHO was giving kits to countries who were not developing them. We were in development, errors nothing to do with Trump slowed it down. WHO did not offer them and us refuse.

As for calling it a hoax, Trump said the democrats were over emphasizing supposed failures and the seriousness of the virus to capitalize on it. They were, they did, this is still a problem, but, it is not nearly to the degree that we should ever need 1.2 trillion in stimulus. That’s on your side’s fault. We should not be shutting down the economy over this in panic ridden statements.

That would not have helped. We have 100 deaths for an equal time frame to when Italy was at the same point at 200, with a population nearly 5 times less, we did not have access to virus samples, FDA regulations limited testing, CDC messed up, and Trump has been on top of it.

Super poorly put, totally do not agree.

Tramp apologists – Dear Leader did everything right, including telling the WHO to take their tests and shove them up their…Also, saying we are going from 15 to 0 cases miraculously. And, according to him, that starts in about 13 days.

    Reality – Something Tramp denies.

Someone tell Bob I still don’t read anything he writes (going on what, 3 or 4 years now?), so there is no point in him responding to me.

Please note the lovely clip where two weeks ago all your fox news pals contradicted themselves. You’re woefully ignorant about which group has their fingers in their ears, the evidence is there for all to see LOL you can’t rewrite history from two weeks ago when the video clips are still available liars

Planet literally has his fingers in his ears, ignoring the other side. I reply to all people. I don’t have my fingers in my ears. Irony.

I am making my own arguments here. I don’t care about Fox News.

I have made very specific points. You are not debating what I have said. I would have to fact check a lot of this, and already have, on how the media mislead on several aspects. It should never have even been reported at all that we rejected test kits, or that Trump was hoarding the vaccine, or trying to, for America. These are outrageous claims made by an untrustworthy media looking to capitalize. If you want to play this game, I will show you how the left has verifiably crossed lines, and outright lied about Trump on areas that are not matters of opinion.

Your link on mother jones is an opinion piece about Trump not staying on message and is pointless. As this evolved different statements were made.

This is not lying, this is Trump taking a public image position, and taking action.

Several of your posts are nonsensical outrage over nothing.

Fake news, you say? Really? Sounds a lot like you’ve all been backpedaling really quickly. Too bad the internet has record of all that “fake news” your boss Herr Trump was saying, huh?

None of that is at all directing what I’ve said, they are all a bunch of complaints about Trump.

The WHO did not offer and the US reject test kits.

Why don’t we fact check the aspect I accused him of using that was fake news? Kaiser even reports on it. KAISER. Not exactly conservative.

Two sources proving Planet quoted fake news, and I made it clear in which way he used fake news. Your link is not gone over, you just have blanket statements and blanket conclusions from companies, you didn’t formulate anything on your own. Go back to napkin league and let the adults talk Jon.

At this point I’m pretty convinced you’re Craig’s backup posting account for when he’s looked like an idiot so badly he wants to just tank the article and get all the comments removed. Like the three articles that were taken down while I was briefly suspended, you’re just here to try and divert the conversation when one of your republican goon pals looks stupid. You’re not having a conversation, you’re just trolling and everyone here knows it. You keep claiming to be tired of my nonsense, just like you claim to “not have time for this” and then posting six more times. You’re a hypocrite and a liar, bob. It’s not namecalling, that’s just what you goons are.

        “hypocrite” “liar” (Jon’s old favorite)

Andrew is a joke. Allowing Jon to ever post anything reveals Andrew’s affinity for cesspools.

“If we would have had a true understanding of the extend of disease several weeks ago, implementation of social distancing measures could have prevented the escalation of the disease.” Dr. Fishman, chief medical officer at the Hospital of the U of PA and an infectious-disease specialist

Why didn’t we have a true understanding. Because some orange buffoon was calling it a democratic hoax and telling the American people it would miraculously disappear in April.
