They have been made public many times. The democrats always complain that less folks will have insurance (since there will be no mandate) and much of the time, CBO says it will lower costs, one of the CBO ratings were it would bring down premiums 9%. There are plans and this gets really old really fast.

You either have a system in which people work their way up, or, where everybody takes from those who do…The aca encourages the former rather than the later.

We already have the 1985 bill pertaining to getting care if you need it. Our system is already fine. What is not fine are the areas the government keeps trying to control, and inflating premiums for those who do buy insurance.

‘Deny people coverage’ is a lie for two reasons.

Coverage is ALWAYS available at the right price.

It is a lie. Those who cannot afford treatments are given free treatments in an ER or hospital or clinic. The providers absorb the costs and pass them along to other customers in the form of expense loads. In conclusion, coverage occurs in the form of treatment under various laws that results in ‘coverage’ paid for by other patients.

*sigh* you know this is true Rosenblatt, and you’ve made the argument before that it gets passed on one way or the other. The issue is, Obamacare adds another layer AND forces those people to buy insurance. So there are more costs.

Also, it’s called Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act of 1985.

He doesn’t have to list a single hospital. It’s pretty much any hospital which accepts Medicare.

Bob – Uninsured Patient A (no Medicare, no COBRA – nothing) who has $100 in savings goes to the ER and receives treatment. The bill is $3,000. Where does the hospital send the bill?

According to you…..it goes to Medicare???

According to Polar….it goes nowhere?? “those who cannot afford treatments are given free treatments in an ER or hospital.”?

According to me, it gets sent to the Patient who likely has to negotiate a payment plan or who gets sent to collections because they can’t pay.

I’d love to know where uninsured people who can’t afford treatment can go to the ER in the USA and not see a bill like Polar just claimed.

That is not what I said Rosenblatt. Any hospital which accepts Medicare has to give free coverage, as per the 1985 bill. Medicare isn’t the payor, it’s the coverage trigger. The reason I leave after I post is you always twist what I say, and then whine and @#%@ about it. But you clearly knew this bill exists, you’ve made the argument before that hospitals which provide free care are subsidizing care, so why does it matter if we force insurance companies to do it? I know you made this argument. The answer: It adds another layer, an inefficient one, it actually adds two, the insurance company, and the government.

You’re wrong. You don’t admit it. I don’t care to stay.

My statement of fact was correct. This is so stupid.

Uninsured person A — not on medicare nor medicaid, not even COBRA — goes to the ER. ER treats Person A.

While the ER accepts Medicare from other patients, a reminder here that Person A does not have Medicare.

Trump admitted he was in favor of covering preexisting conditions, as are most Americans. We don’t need a bloated, bankrupt, overly expensive plan like Obamacare to have coverage for preexisting conditions. That part is simple.

Follow me through this Craig & Polar…

Trump’s admin is currently in court requesting a complete reversal of the ACA, INCLUDING removal of coverage for pre-existing conditions.

Let’s say they win on August 1 and the super-duper failure that is the ACA is struck down in its entirety.

Pre-existing conditions MAY be required to be covered again once the Republican’s get final approval for their plan and it’s implemented as law.

Carriers will not be forced to cover patients with pre-existing conditions once the ACA is overturned until there’s a new law mandating they cover those folks.

So again, how long will people with preexisting conditions not have coverage until the replacement plan is finally voted on in both chambers and implemented as a law? 2 months? 6 months? 1 year?

The Republicans controlled the House, the Senate, the Judiciary, and the Presidency for 2 full years. They passed no health care legislation. They didn’t even float a policy proposal. Every single effort- every ounce of political capital- has been spent trying to buy judges.

Heck, the entire ACA idea was based on a right-wing plan drafted by the Heritage Foundation.

COVID-19 has been shown to cause widespread damage to pulmonary (that means “Lung-related” for any Trump voters not yet on oxygen) and cardiovascular systems with as-yet unknown neurological impacts. However, symptoms including “brain fog,” hearing loss and loss of taste suggest neurological impacts.

Is a prior positive COVID-19 diagnosis grounds for a pre-existing condition exclusion? Anyone with sense knows that question is rhetorical — of COURSE it would be used as grounds for pre-existing condition denial or to deny approval of a new health plan. So that leaves the question – how does Trump’s non-existent fantasy plan address the millions of people who might find themselves unable to secure coverage at any price due to COVID-19?

The fact remains- there is no Republican health care plan. There never was, and there never will be. There is no real plan for governance on any issue. No platform, no values. Trump has destroyed everything except the hatred.

Now that COVID runs rampant in the streets all We the People see is a sad man full of self-loathing pretending to be a grand emperor.

The fact remains that with the Indivdual Mandate gone, there is no such thing as Obamacare.

Obama himself admitted the math doesn’t work without the Individual Mandate. That’s why he campaigned for President saying he was against the individual mandate only to change his tune after becoming President and someone explained math to him about how you can’t have suppressed pricing for older folks unless younger folks (Obama-speak) were forced to pay and pay more than they should.

And Americans HATED the individual mandate. (Still waiting for my $2,500. premium reduction . . . still waiting.)

Obamacare was one gigantic lie. Obama told that lie 28 times in his speeches. Keep your doctor, keep your plan and the average family would save $2,500 per year. It was unpopular then and equally unpopular now. What plan forces existing plans to be cancelled to get any enrollment? What plan forces people to take coverage they don’t want or need?

There should not be a GOVERNMENT plan for health care. That is a private industry obligation. Your mindset is that of a brainwashed Communist.

Your assumption about the necessity for the government to write plans is as fatally flawed as NY Gov. Cuomo’s directive to nursing homes and ALCs to accept COVID-19 positive patients.

Your posts are reflective of a meltdown based on your frustration due to repeated failures of Socialist/ Communist politicians now in control of the Democrat party. It is Obama and his administration that destroyed many positive aspects of our nation. Trump is rebuilding them, and you are powerless to stop him.

During his campaign for presidency, Trump proclaimed in public (reportedly 41 times) that he had a plan which would provide GREAT health coverage for EVERYONE, providing HUGE savings from the Affordable Care Act, and protect those with pre-existing conditions. The guy has been in office for 3 1/2 years now. Why hasn’t he sent his plan to Congress for legislative enactment, or at least taken a little time away from his golfing to explain the details of this plan?

Please cite McCain’s exact broken promise, because the only thing I can find is him constantly saying he’d ONLY vote to repeal the ACA IF there was a replacement plan READY to take its place. He voted no on the repeal-only bills, not on any bill that would’ve actually replaced the ACA.

here’s what I don’t understand, and I’m being serious here for a second. TRUMP HIMSELF said during the election that they were going to repeal and replace the ACA with a GREAT plan that was going to be even bigger and better and less expensive than the ACA. Yogi claims to know about such a plan (HEALTH CARE SPECIFFICCS), yet for some reason, it hasn’t been made public. IF such a plan exists, wouldn’t Trump and others in his administration be constantly touting and extolling the virtues of it to get the American people on board? And PLEASE don’t use the “phony impeachment” or “Russian Hoax” as an excuse for his reason for not doing this, if anything he would’ve been pushing this plan even harder during those scandals.

True. Trump said that and it didn’t happen.

But we were lied into accepting Obamacare. Everyone knows that if King Barack hadn’t lied, even Democrats wouldn’t have voted for a plan where premiums were going to go up and people would lose coverage and have to change doctors.

So you can complain about Trump all you want. Obama got us into this mess by lying to us. (And the media went all quiet. Thanks NY Times!)

Congressional Democrats had access to nearly all of the proposed ACA replacement plans. Many were submitted directly to them. Others were filed with Republican Senators and some Republican House members who are generally obligated to post them in the public record.

Your primary assumption is fatally flawed.

The government isn’t responsible for plans. Dems thought otherwise and were doomed to failure; i.e. MediCare, Medicaid, ACA.

Plans are produced by insurers and health care providers.

Correct. The government is not responsible for such plans. So, they never should have passed ACA.

My question re: Dems drafting a replacement plan followed your request for replacement plans (many have been published, despite what liars on the left claim). YOU suggested Republicans (i.e. government) are responsible for replacing the failed ACA. But you don’t want to criticize Democrat Socialists for not doing so because you didn’t respond to my question. Hypocrite. Troll. QED.

Yes, Polar. I honestly think if Trump and Republicans are successful in overturning the super-duper failure that is the ACA, they should own creating the replacement plan.

          Watch this logic.

Your roof is leaking. The D’s put a bucket in your living room to catch the water. The R’s are trying to remove the bucket.

If the R’s remove the bucket, it’s their job to come up with a replacement mitigation technique or else the R’s will be liable for the resulting water damage where the bucket used to be.

You’re deflecting with lies. I did not ask for the replacement plans.

I asked how long will people with pre-existing conditions get denied insurance between the time the super-duper failure that is the ACA is overturned and the time the replacement plan is finally enacted as law.

Also, I can’t find ANY hospital that says they won’t bill an uninsured patient directly related to your “Those who cannot afford treatments are given free treatments in an ER or hospital or clinic.” post. I used google, duck duck go, ask and searchconservative

So, please name me ONE ER/hospital that does what you claim. Otherwise, I’m not sure you’re the best person to be listening to regarding healthcare.
