The US CSB can rely on analysts to produce their reports. There is very little need for a five person board to present the reports to end-users. This is a classic example of bloated government bureaucracy. Trump’s administration of the issue will not be hindered by the redux, and perhaps may even benefit by a streamlined process of one capable, experienced and informed person making recommendations for the CSB.

Whether the country would be better served by a single director instead of a board is for Congress to decide. It is the President’s job to execute and carry out the law as passed by Congress, and currently that is to appoint board members to CSB and continue operation of CSB for the benefit of society.

What is going on with our country? Not every governmental agency is a waste of money or needlessly regulating industry, especially those like Chemicals, which have a long history of shortcoming safety and causing lasting pollution which causes great damage and injury to people. It seems like the chemical companies get to book record profits while the taxpayers are left to clean it up at our cost and suffer greatly from illnesses caused by the pollution dumped by these industries.
