I wished paper/cloth masks would stop or even slow the spread of viruses, but they don’t. Even the CDC and Fauci admitted that a year ago. Follow the science. There are over a dozen international scientific studies done that show paper masks and cloth bandanas have no effect on slowing virus spread. Only tight fitting respirators do. The best thing still to do is to beef up our immune systems, use good hygiene and stay home if feeling sick. The elderly (70+) should especially be careful. Kind of like we have always done in the past during a bad flue season.

Do you have even just ONE study you can link to that supports your argument that “paper masks and cloth bandanas have no effect on slowing virus spread”?
I swear some people here just post links without reading the article or the linked studies. For example, your RCR URL links to a study that found:
“…While influenza virus could be detected by RT–PCR in all nine volunteers without a mask, no influenza virus could be detected on the Petri dish specimens when participants wore either type of face mask.”
I have a great immune system – don’t eat processed foods or sugar, exercise, sleep enough, not stressed – but I’m MUCH MORE likely to get sick from C19 and pass it to others (un)knowingly if nobody is wearing masks.
More cases -> more hospitalizations -> more deaths. Also,
More cases -> more chance virus mutates -> higher threshold for herd immunity and more chances vaccines are less effective against the mutations -> more cases -> endless cycle.
Don’t you understand masks mitigate the effect of that cycle at every step of the way?
I’m so glad we finally have a president who wants to take the pandemic seriously and try to get us back to normal sooner than later. And, the health experts are elated we have a leader who isn’t going to suggest we drink bleach and wait on a miracle to happen. Such a breath of fresh air!
The continuing presence of Fauci who waves whichever way the wind blows undermines whatever he says. He’s become so political that he’s a caricature of himself which gives pause to any of his “science” statements. Personally I believe in masks during this tough time but that is a my decision because it is both selfish and endangering to not wear one in the presence of others. If only our temporary president would set a better example.

Building up our immune systems will do more than any mask. Wash your hands, disinfect what you can and get healthy.
