If you’ve watched someone die from COVID, you’d think differently.

I am vaccinated and I totally disagree with you. I know 4 people who died from COVID and one who died from the vaccine. This is an individual choice. We are a free country and your willingness to comply with vaccine mandates is the beginning of the end of our freedoms. If people choose not to get vaccinated and they get COVID, it was their choice. They will have to deal with the consequences. Neither the government nor my employer have the right to mandate my health choices.

According to Regular Reader, the beginning of the end of our freedoms occurred when the gov’t first put in a vaccine mandate … so, Feb 5, 1777 apparently.

This is the same whiny argument conservatives made when seatbelts were introduced. Your freedoms aren’t being reduced, your ability to harm the general population with your own reckless behavior is being reduced.

Well, I’m conservative and got the vaccine right away. I have had someone I know well die of Covid and an in-law suffer for months with it so I am certain that vaccinating is a good idea, the virus is real and deadly to the very vulnerable. That said, government should interfere in your life as little as possible. The pandemic has been used by both political parties in the most egregious ways to scare, bully and essentially control people. The reaction to the virus is far, far worse the disease itself. That is the madness I am referring to, and nothing more.

Thank you for doing your part to protect the immunocompromised and children by getting the vaccine.

My honest question to you is what would it take for you to think this disease is just as bad as some people are making it out to be?

There have been over 600,000 USA deaths (and counting). Very very soon, C19 will have killed more people in a year than cancer.

Wouldn’t a disease that kills more than cancer (and is highly transmissible in close contact with another, unlike cancer) be at the top of the “let’s sound the alarm bells that there’s a horrible and deadly virus” alarm?

I’m honestly asking – what would it take for you to think the hype would be warranted …. 1,000,000 USA deaths a year?

Are the vaccine recipients being advised that the vaccine does not prevent them from getting Covid and that they can still spread the virus even though vaccinated? Serious question.

Brant is actually correct, poor job on educating that supposedly, you transmit less if you’ ve got the shot, which by the way, is not a vaccine

Jon, when I received my vaccinations I was given no information about the vaccine itself, just what side effects to watch for and when/if to seek medical attention and then told I could leave in 15 minutes (no one even monitored if I actually stayed). Now as a naturally curious person I did my research, but lets be honest there are so many people that do not, they just blindly are getting these thinking this will solve everything and they won’t have to worry about COVID anymore which is so not true! Also the messaging from concert venues and sports venues…..”you can attend with either proof of vaccination or proof of negative COVID test” in my town I have heard and seen so many that think they are good with the vaccine…….in all honesty that also gives folks a false sense of security that the vaccine keeps them from having to deal with COVID.

I get your point, and you’re not wrong, but anyone who gets the C19 vaccine and thinks that literally has ZERO idea how ANY vaccine works. Like, have they never got the flu vaccine and then caught the flu later that season? Common sense is severely lacking nowadays

Yes Brant. Everyone I know is aware the vaccine is a risk mitigation tool and lowers the risk of getting C19 — along the lines of how a condom works for reducing pregnancies or STD’s, or how a seatbelt and airbags lowers your risk of a severe injury if you’re in a car accident …. none of those come with a 100% guarantees either.

Nothing medical is good for everyone. There are always exceptions and freedom is one of them.
its crazy to think we must take this test shot, or else (have you read the four page FAQ sheet that comes with it – are we not allowed to heed the warnings that it provides? the government is trying to protect you by showing you these facts – can we not heed the warning?). . . please turn off the Tel-A-Vision and make up your own mind from what you see. The shot could be good for some – not Everyone. If you’re sick, stay home.

If you don’t trust the experts and don’t get vaccinated because you think you know more than they do, I’d argue you should not go to the hospital and seek C19 treatment from the experts either. After all … you think you know more than they do, right?

Rosensplatt is right. You don’t want to go to their hospitals for treatment. They are killing people in their hospitals.
